I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

First things first: IF YOU’RE IN TEXAS AND YOU’RE READING THIS, PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!!

We didn’t win the lottery. Do you play? We do, every blue moon. It’s fun to think about what we’d do if we won. I do know that I wouldn’t quit my job. I enjoy what I do. But I would build a parking pavilion for the library with an underground garage and an attached coffee bar. And I would want it to be called The Dani Vaughn-Tucker Parking Pavilion. Seriously, if you want to be remembered, put up a parking lot for library staff. Because of our odd hours, we always end up in the furthest parking space from the library, which can be unnerving when you’re leaving your place of work alone. What would you do if you won?

Do you enjoy cooking? Or looking at pretty pictures of food? Then you have to check out this blog called black.white.vivid. by Kati. Seriously. Look. At. It. Beautiful, no? I discovered her photos on Instagram a few months ago and started fangirling. Then she started a blog that has literally left me drooling on my keyboard. I haven’t tried any of the recipes, but I have studied the pictures and thought long and hard about what I’d like for someone else to make for me. Although, I’m thinking these Spiced Turkish Coffee Popsicles may end up on my “try me” list.

I’m soooo ready for boot season. I know you can wear boots in the summer, but it’s too danged hot in Georgia right now. I am anti sweaty feet. ga~ross Although, this morning, I felt a little nip in the air and almost started cheering. Granted I’m not a cold weather girl, I don’t like the blazing heat. I’m more of a sweater weather kinda person. Truth be told, I’m definitely a sweater and boots kinda girl. This season, I’m totally digging ankle boots like these from Ariat or these from Nine West, aren’t they just too cute? I usually go with neutral colors like brown, black, or gray, but this year I want to go funky and do something in a print or fun color. I’ve also been looking at pumps, because I’m thinking they’ll add a professional edge to my cropped pants when I’m teaching. What do you think of these by Prettoday? Or these by Nine West? When I conduct my library sessions, we have to “dress up,” so I’ve been putting together Pinterest boards to give myself ideas. I’m not a suit kinda person, so I’m trying to stay true to myself while adhering to the dress code. sigh

Now, it’s your turn… What’s going on in your world? Anything have you scratching your head or belly laughing? Is there a book I absolutely must add to my TBR Shelf? Have you cooked or ordered anything tasty?

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
