Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

How was your week? Mine was long. I wrapped up two history classes and attended the final graduation at our college before it officially becomes Albany State University {due to a consolidation}. My truck broke down on Thursday and all I can say is that I’m happy that it happened near Starbucks and I was able to get into the lot. I had a Peppermint Mocha Frap, shed a few tears, called The Hubs, and laughed at a surprise on the ceiling.

Are you ready for Christmas? I was talking to someone a few weeks ago and I mentioned that we don’t buy gifts for anyone over the age of 18 and she literally started screaming. Like I thought something happened because she was screaming and then she said “There would be heck to pay if I didn’t get any gifts for Christmas!” Ummmm, what? I have to admit, I was taken aback by the reaction. The reason we don’t buy gifts is because when we see stuff that we think someone will like, we get it. We don’t wait for a specific day to surprise each other. Nor do we like the idea of spending money on stuff just so we can say we got someone something.

Do you bake Christmas cookies? The girls and I tried one time and it didn’t end well. They were the worst cookies we’ve ever had but the memories were worth it. I have no idea what we did to those cookies, bu the after taste… It was brutal!

So, what’s on your mind? Grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk…

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
