Happy Wednesday, y’all!

The Hubs and I are finally in Louisiana cue the choirs singing and I can honestly say, this has been the longest and hardest move by far. You can read all about it here, but I will say this: it’s not over just yet. We’re still waiting on the house to close and then I’ll be able to relax.

I saw this top on the SheIn website and fell in love, which is so weird for me being that I am terribly afraid of birds. But there was something about it that just captured my attention. Maybe it’s because of the neutral colors {which are my jam} or maybe it’s because this top is really meant to be a dress and I thought I’d look so cute in it, but I didn’t realize that I’m muuuuuch larger than the models on the site. I should add, that I’d intended to wear it with tights or leggings because, well, it’s a little too short for my comfort level.

Yes, it’s true. My top is actually a dress but when it arrived it didn’t come close to fitting me as such. But I didn’t want to send it back. I mean, the print and the coolness of the material {it’s really thin, which is perfect for hot humid days spent inside a freezing cold library}… I really didn’t want to send it back.

I just figured I’d find a way to make it work. So I tried scrunching it around my waist and wearing it as a blouse and, well, the adjustment made me super happy.

These cropped pants are my favorite neutrals right now. I can see them with a white tank and flip flops for a day date with The Hubs or with a denim jacket, graphic tee, and strappy sandals for an evening out.

I just wish that I’d chosen different shoes for this particular outfit. While I like my Mary Janes, I think they make my legs look a little, ummmm, squat. But I had one of those days at the library where I needed to be on my feet a lot, so I wanted to be comfortable. Sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. Kanye shrug

My advice when ordering from a site like SheIn is to measure your body and take a look at the garment measurements very carefully, then compare the two. I mean, the clothing is relatively inexpensive, so I’m not complaining {and, honestly, I have a daughter who could easily wear this as a dress if she were so inclined}.
