Like many people in areas where the elected officials care about their constituents, we’re under Stay At Home Orders. And I’ve been trying to figure out how I can remember this time. I mean, we know it won’t last always. Right? Then it dawned on me: USE YOUR CAMERA. Yes, really, that was not my first thought. I think there was a disconnect because I don’t have kids at home. So, yeah, Daenel, that means that you have to get creative with your photography. It isn’t just people with kids who shoot, ya know?
Anyway, I decided to start documenting life from my front porch. Not that there’s a lot going on because, well, quarantine. They won’t all be pictures of me. I plan to capture quarantine life, whatever that may be. This will serve as a memory keeper, a photographic diary, if you will. I’ll also use this as an opportunity to hone my photography skills and practice using the different lenses in my bag.
I’ll share on Instagram with a short caption and save my “deep thoughts” for here. I’d love it if you’d join me. You don’t have to shoot every day like I plan to do, but I’d love to see whatever you capture.

4|30. What would I do if I could… Probably the same thing I’m doing right now.
Honestly, quarantine hasn’t changed much of my daily life. I mean, I’m a homebody. The only real issue is that we can’t see our grandkids, but our daughter is real good about sharing pictures and videos. The kids love to entertain so they enjoy performing for us {and everyone else}. The biggest adjustment has to be working from home. You can see my workspace and see how I’m adjusting by reading this post.

5|30. “Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty – he is the King of glory.” – Psalms 24:10
6|30. Oh, look. A baby dinosaur. Is it just me, or does it feel like nature is louder and more intense? I can’t decide if it’s because it’s Spring or because people aren’t around to interfere. Either way, waking up to birds chirping and baby dinosaurs scurrying is a nice change from traffic noises.
7|30. Texting my little sister – giggling at silly memories and jokes that aren’t really funny, but still make us laugh. If nothing else, this time in quarantine is making me connect in ways I hadn’t before. Like I said, I’m a bit of a homebody and an introvert, so folks are forcing me to communicate.
8|30. He was tolerant. And hungry.
9|30. Not on my porch but under my desk. It’s thundering and lightning and she’s afraid… I can’t explain it to her, so I sit nearby. Whispering. Waiting for her to come out. Letting her know that she’s not alone.
10|30. Nothing for today.
Stay Well,
