Hey, y’all, hey! I hope you’re having a great week so far. Mine has been super busy. It started over the weekend with a graduation photo shoot for the daughter of a former coworker. You can see the pictures here. I had so much fun with her and her mom. And the weather was beyond gorgeous — a big relief since we’d all been stressing over rain threats for weeks. And then SkillsUSA started on Monday evening. SkillsUSA is like the Olympics but for technical college students. They get to show their skills in customer service, medical math, welding, and other programs. And since I take the pictures for the college, that means that I’m on site for as many of the events as possible. You can see those pictures here. And now we’re preparing for a major storm, so I won’t get to really rest until this weekend {part of my job at the college is updating our social media so that students are aware of campus closures and the like}. So, yeah, it’s gonna be a long and busy evening.

ABOUT SONGFUL STYLE

Welcome to Songful Style. Songful Style is a new style challenge hosted by Anne {Spy Girl}, Marsha {Marsha in the Middle}, Michelle {My Bijou Life}, Shelbee {Shelbee on the Edge}, and Suzy {The Grey Brunette}. Each month, they’ll share a song with the lyrics and video and invite participants to use some aspect of the song to inspire an outfit.

This month’s theme is “Leather and Lace” by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley and was selected by Shelbee.

MY OUTFIT

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the distressing on this jacket? This jacket is waaaay more soft and worn in than it looks. It just feels so incredibly scrumptious. I could sleep in it.

And the length is just *chef’s kiss*. Most denim jackets stop around the waist, but I love love love the almost midi length of this one. It offers the perfect amount of coverage.

But wait! What’s this? There’s more? Why yes, there is! Look at that length of Kantha fabric. Doesn’t it just make you want to cry because it’s so pretty? Between the coat and the dress, I felt like a boho princess!

Under the denim duster, I wore my oh-so-favorite black maxi cardi because layers, y’all.

And now for this dress… deep heavy sigh… Just tell me you aren’t getting Stevie Nicks vibes. This dress is what is considered a Kantha Bae unicorn because it’s in a neutral color with a similar pattern all over. I don’t know how but I managed to scoop her and one other dress up during one of Kantha Bae’s incredible sales. I won the duster in one of their giveaways. Yes, seriously.

WHERE I WORE IT

The Hubs and I spent the day looking at RVs. It was cold and incredibly windy, so I’m glad I had on my denim duster. Initially, I was a little concerned that it’d be too hot because the sun was out for like a hot minute.

I know you’re wondering how I got leather and lace out of this outfit so let me explain: THIS OUTFIT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME THAT I SOLELY RELIED ON THE AWESOMENESS TO MATCH THE THEME!! And, really, isn’t this whole look just Stevie meets Dani for coffee?

Kantha Bae DusterĀ  and Dress | Maxi Cardi – Similar | Lace Up Leather Boots – Similar

Sizing: I’m 5’4″ and a dress size 10 to 12 {M,L}. I wear a size 9.5 shoe.

Because Kantha Bae items are one-of-a-kind, they often sell out quickly, so if you want something, you have to make sure you snap it up fast. That being said, they have some pretty wild sales, so if you miss your first choice, you can probably get an equally as beautiful second or third choice item.

LAST THOUGHTS

I freaking love this outfit. That is all!
