ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfit. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal in your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.

INSPIRATION ART WORK
Sweet Dreams by John William Godward
I absolutely adore this portrait by John William Godward. The colors are soothing and, oh my word, there’s animal print {my favorite neutral ever}. I also like the model’s face. She kinda has this been there, done that expression… That’s so my neutral face. LOL
What will you wear? I can’t wait to see.

Salazar {14 Shades of Grey}
Salazar sent two outfits “…because I couldn’t include all the elements of the painting in just one look. So I chose my green linen pants as the base, and in one outfit, paired them with my pink tee (for the pink marble) and animal print flats, and in the other, with my white shirt (for the white marble), maroon shoes (for the maroon fabric on the dress), and animal print belt.”
I like both outfits, don’t you? And y’all know I’m digging both pairs of shoes.
Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}
Kim’s outfit is super cute. I’m such a fan of jump suits. Kim wrote that she “…wanted to add some “flow”, so used my leopard printed scarf around my tote handle.” Perfect addition.
SUBMISSIONS
Jodie’s outfit is giving me so many fall vibes. Jodie wrote that she “…just love(s) the olive green and burgundy together.” They are a classic combination.
