Hi, how are y’all doing? Things are, ummmm, going over here. I’ve been in a bit of funk lately – not Coronavirus related – just a general, I’m so over everything right now. I haven’t felt like updating the blog or any of my other social media channels. In fact, I’ve been seriously considering shutting everything down. The only reason I haven’t done so just yet is that I don’t want to do it and then find out that this really is COVID-19 fatigue.  I dunno…

ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Grey}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfits. And that Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

THE CURATOR

This week’s image was chosen by Salazar.

INSPIRATION ART WORK

Salazar chose this image because “…Monet is one of my favorite artists, and the bright colors, strong textures, and outdoorsy theme are just what we need these days, I think.” I totally agree!

STYLING IDEAS

I see so much softness here but there’s also strength. The colors blend but the hard strokes make them feel so very saturated. I’m seeing shades of blue, purple, yellow, white, and cream. There’s also some black and gray, as well. What do you see?

MY OUTFIT

Gray Sweater Coral Top and Jeans {living outside the stacks}

I put this outfit together because I wanted to wear a head wrap. Yes, seriously. My little sister gave me that beautiful scarf over a year ago and it has just been sitting in my drawer. Unused.

I’m not a skilled head wrapper, but I like the way the different patterns play against the folds. I also think the colors of the scarf kind of have an impressionist feel to them.
