Read the Bible in 90 Days {#B90Days}
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be serving as a member of the leadership team for the next session of #B90Days, hosted by Amy at Mom’s Toolbox. #B90Days is a 90 day Bible reading plan that helps you read the Bible from cover to cover. Because of the intense nature of the plan, this should not be considered a Bible study but an opportunity to read the most life changing book ever written. As a member of the leadership team, my job will be to encourage the readers in my team through prayer, on Twitter and via our accountability group. I’ll also be posting words of encouragement here on my…

Giving Thanks for the Small Things {This or That Thursday}
Sometimes I get so caught up in the big picture that I miss the little things. For example, I took this picture using Instagram because I thought the light coming off the setting sun was just beautiful. In fact, I was so awestruck by the evening sky that I didn’t even notice the lone shopping cart until after I had posted the picture. And it made me think, how many times have I been so involved in the “big” things of life that I forget to give thanks for the “little” things? Life has no guarantees, in fact, Psalm 103:15~16 says: “The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish…

Happy Father’s Day!
I’d like to wish all the dads out there a very happy Father’s Day. My prayer for each and every one of you is that you will show the love and guidance for your family that God has shown toward us.

His Works are Wondrous {Photography}
I’m fascinated by the sky. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, I’m always looking up at the sun, the clouds, the stars, the lightning, everything… It just amazes me that each and every day, from moment to moment really, that things can just look so different. God is an incredible artist, His works are wondrous and worthy of all praise. What amazes you most about God’s work? Is it the colors in a rainbow? The sound of birds chirping? The sweet smile on a child’s face? What makes you sit back and say “Look at God”? A couple of times a week, I plan to share what…

He is the Light {Word Filled Wednesday}
Last week, the hubs, Miss 15 and I were driving into town when the hubs pulled over and said “You have got to get a picture of that sky!” It was the most spectacular looking thing we’d seen in just about forever. As I snapped away, I kept telling him, “I can’t quite capture the beauty…” I felt overwhelmed by the beauty that was before me… This week as I read the section about God’s names of splendor, I was brought back to how I felt standing on the side of the road with my camera in hand. I felt overwhelmed. The Hebrew word for God’s name of splendor is OR OLAM…

He Gave Me Life {Faith}
Sometimes I think what my mirror sees and what my camera sees are two different people. My reflection is always young and smiling, full of energy and ready to take on the day. My photographic image is about 30 lbs overweight with the slightest hint of crows feet forming in the corners of my eyes. I, like most women, pick myself apart, not realizing that when I criticize myself, I’m criticizing my creator. I’m calling into question His handiwork. Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Emphasis mine. We are unique individuals…

When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus {Word Filled Wednesday}
When we moved to Missouri, I tried not to think about all the things that I’d be giving up {a career that I loved, people I enjoyed working with on a daily basis, etc.} and focus on the things that I’d be gaining {living closer to my family, a promotion for the hubs, etc.} but it was still scary. I practically hyperventilated every time I thought about all the bills. Bills we still had to pay. On one salary. Yes, the hubs got a promotion but it didn’t come with a two~person salary increase. Our house in Pennsylvania still hasn’t sold. We have a kid in college, two in high…
