Do You Have “Couple Friends”?
Do you remember that episode of “King of Queens” when Carrie and Doug lose Deacon and Kelly to another couple who has kids so they spend the entire episode trying to find a replacement couple? Well, Tony and I have been trying to find that couple for years now. Ok, maybe I haven’t been actively participating in the search but Tony has done his fair share of couple scouting. And he finally hit the jackpot a couple of nights ago… There are these two couples from his job that we’ve been trying to get together with for a couple of months now but due to scheduling conflicts, someone always had…

From Stepmother to Friend, It Can Happen
This afternoon as I was driving to work, I started scanning the radio for something to listen to. Usually I listen to the oldies station (nothing like singing to the top of your lungs to Diana Ross and the Supremes) or I listen to talk radio (that means Rush Limbaugh because he’s the only voice on in the afternoons around here). Book Review: True Colors by Kristin Hannah
I’ve just finished reading True Colors by Kristin Hannah and all I can say is, I wish there were more… I’ve been a fan of Hannah’s since I read her book, Firefly Lane, a few years back because her books always leave me thinking and challenging myself to do more. Set on a picturesque horse farm in Washington State, True Colors follows the lives of the Grey sisters who were devastated by their mother’s death while they were still young as they navigate through the haze of their father’s distant affections. Winona, the oldest, is overweight and most starved for her father’s attention. She’s an over~achieving lawyer who has never really felt at home on…
