Getting to Know Missouri {This or That Thursday}
A couple of days ago I spent some time down at the Mississippi Riverfront, in the Historic District. While there, I took a few pictures of some of the buildings that are undergoing rehabilitation. They’re turning them into lofts {if it weren’t for the kids, I would beg the hubs to move into one}. I took a peek inside one of the windows ~ exposed brick, great metalwork, etc. On my way home, I passed by this charming little antique shop and I just had to go inside. Once inside I roamed the aisles and made a sweet little discovery… My sisters and I had very similar rabbits when we…

Getting to Know Missouri {This or That Thursday}
How’s everyone doing? I’m OK, haven’t had much of an opportunity to get out and shoot anything so I’m sharing a few more pictures from last week’s trip to the Bollinger Mill Historic site… One of the main attractions at the Bollinger Mill Historic Site is the Burfordville Covered Bridge, the oldest covered bridge in Missouri. Bollinger Mill Historic Site {This or That Thursday}

The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, it was just one of those days that begged to captured and remembered. I love old abandoned homes, there’s something mysterious about them. I want to know who lived in the house, why they left it… Despite the “Open” sign hanging on the front door, the Old Mill Store looked as if it had been abandoned many years ago. This is the side of the mill, isn’t it beautiful? It was built in the 1800s and ran until the…

Oliver~Leming House {Getting to Know Missouri}
Last Friday while perusing the newspaper, I saw an ad announcing a tour of and lecture about the Oliver-Leming House that was being presented to the Cape County Historical Society. The nerd in me totally geeked out because I love touring historic homes. My dream is to some day own and renovate one. So I called The Hubs at work and asked him if he’d like to attend with me. He agreed and we made plans to attend. We arrived late. The wrong address was listed in the newspaper, so we drove up and down several streets looking for the house until I recognized it from the newspaper. Because it was…
