I’m fascinated by the sky. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, I’m always looking up at the sun, the clouds, the stars, the lightning, everything… It just amazes me that each and every day, from moment to moment really, that things can just look so different. He is the Light {Word Filled Wednesday}
Last week, the hubs, Miss 15 and I were driving into town when the hubs pulled over and said “You have got to get a picture of that sky!” It was the most spectacular looking thing we’d seen in just about forever. As I snapped away, I kept telling him, “I can’t quite capture the beauty…” I felt overwhelmed by the beauty that was before me… This week as I read the section about God’s names of splendor, I was brought back to how I felt standing on the side of the road with my camera in hand. He Gave Me Life {Faith}
Sometimes I think what my mirror sees and what my camera sees are two different people. My reflection is always young and smiling, full of energy and ready to take on the day. My photographic image is about 30 lbs overweight with the slightest hint of crows feet forming in the corners of my eyes. I, like most women, pick myself apart, not realizing that when I criticize myself, I’m criticizing my creator. I’m calling into question His handiwork. Knowing God by Name {Bible Study}
Today marked the beginning of the second week of the “Knowing God by Name” bible study and I have to say, this has truly been an awe inspiring study. In the first week, we learned the names of God that indicate His deity: YAHWEH ~ LORD {Jehovah, Self~Existent One} ELOHIM ~ GOD {Mighty, Strong, Prominent One} ADONAI ~ LORD {Master} RISHON VA~ACHARON ~ THE FIRST AND THE LAST ADONAI YAHWEH ~ SOVEREIGN LORD Each of these names proclaim that God is the LORD of lords and God of gods, there is no one above Him, He can do anything, He is the beginning and the end… I’ve always known that…

Knowing God By Name {Word Filled Wednesday}
When I was a little girl, I hated my name. I mean, I absolutely positively hated my name. People used to call me “Danielle”, “Darlene”, “Daniel”, etc. All perfectly fine names, but not my name. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I fully appreciated the uniqueness of my name and it wasn’t until I had children of my own that I understood the power of names. This week, I started a new study with the Women’s Bible Café called “Knowing God by Name: A Personal Encounter” by Mary Kassian.
