Last year, I wrote a post called 2010: The Best of Living Outside the Stacks, where I went back over the year and picked out my favorite posts from the year and I thought I’d do it again this year. When You are Writing, Do You Prefer to Use a Pen or a Computer? #NaBloPoMo
As a teenager, I used to love to write letters. My letters took days for me to write. I’d start them on Monday, finish them on Thursday and stick them in the mail on Friday. Yes, I really thought my friends cared that much about my ~ whoa, wait! I was blogging on paper. But I was also incredibly, um, anal about my letters. They had to be perfect. I’m a dancer. Not to be mistaken for a person who has rhythm or fancy moves, mind you. But I’m a dancer. Every time I hear music, my feet start tapping, my shoulders start shaking and it’s all over but the hopping on the stage. Of course, I’d never dance on a stage. What is Your Favorite Part About Writing? #NaBloPoMo
In high school, my favorite part of writing was actually the preparation part. I enjoyed the process of arranging my pens ~ Pilot Precise V~5, thankyouverymuch ~ on my bed, I used to create a little nest out of the blanket so my pens wouldn’t roll around. Yes, I was that much of a nerd. It’s so funny that I stumbled across this meme on Allie’s blog, Wardrobe Oxygen, because Miss 17 and I were just talking about how writing is becoming a lost art. Seriously, when I teach classes at the college, I just want to dedicate a couple of classes to writing basics ~ you know, mostly how to write so that I can read what the student has written.
