For the next few posts, I’ll be answering prompts provided by @feliciafollumfairtradefashion.

01| WHO ARE YOU?

We were asked to answer this question without talking about what we do {our careers}. This is hard for me. I think it’s probably hard for a lot of people. I mean, don’t we often lead with “I’m a ____________”? Our careers become such an integral part of our identities that it’s often hard to separate the two. Now that I think about it, I think it works that way with being a wife and mom too…

Anyway, here we go:

My name is Daenel {pronounced Daynell}, and I’m an introvert who masquerades as an extrovert. My coworkers {see, there I go} think it’s hilariously when I say that. I’m just not comfortable with small talk or parties. They’re just weird. Or, maybe, I’m just weird?

I’m a light chasing Jesus girl with a serious coffee addiction. My faith in Christ is strong, even though I stumble. Sometimes I wish I was stronger, more faithful, more worthy… But I know that He loves me in spite of everything.

WHAT I WORE

This Kantha Bae dress is one of my favorite dresses for a variety of reasons:

  • It’s ethically and sustainably made. It’s made from recycled Kantha material.
  • It’s one of a kind.
  • It’s incredibly comfortable. It’s one size fits most and doesn’t have any restrictive bands.
  • It has pockets, very deep pockets.

Another thing I like about this dress is the versatility. This dress can be worn as a dress or a skirt {when layered with a chunky pullover or even a button up}. Additionally, the dress can be turned around or reversed, as the fabric is different on all four sides.

WHERE I WORE IT

I wore this outfit to work on Monday. Mondays are generally office days for me, so I tend to dress more creatively on those days. I did forget that the heat is out in the building, so I was a little chilly and ended up running home during lunch and adding a few layers under my dress. Seriously, how did we go from summer temps to winter temps with no warning?

Oh, I forgot I did have a Zoom meeting. I think I may be the only person who still prefers Zooms to face-to-face meetings. They’re just so much more convenient and I can keep working on other things while the meeting is taking place.
