02| ROUTINE OR HABIT

When I was a kid, I lived with my bio dad for a period of time, during which, I’d spend time with my grandma. She, like many grandmas from back in the day, was addicted to nighttime soaps. She’d come home from work, make a pot of coffee {in her silver percolator}, light up a cigarette, and ooooh and aaaah over Alexis Carrington Colby and, later, Dominque Devereaux.

For that hour, she and my aunt made me feel like one of the girls.

To this day, when I drink a cup of coffee, I still feel the warmth of those evenings in front of the TV.

You can join me for a cup of coffee {or whatever you prefer} each morning, using the hashtag #LibrarianAndCoffee.

WHAT I WORE

I chose this floral tunic/dress as part of my capsule collection because, well, it’s just so pretty and versatile. Depending upon my mood and where I’m going, it can be worn as a dress or a tunic. In fact, I originally bought it to wear to my cousin’s wedding many years ago. And, much to my horror, I discovered that this dress is just a tad bit snug on me. So, even though I wore it, I did end up removing it from my collection. I’m torn as to whether I want to donate it or try losing a few pounds to get into it. Yes, I know, it’s never a good idea to hold on to something with an ideal weight in mind, but I only need to lose about 5 lbs for it to fit comfortably. That’s doable.

The black leggings are my go to when I need something fitted to wear under a dress or tunic. They’re comfy and they’re a hefty weight, which makes them a little dressier than your typical leggings. As for the boots, I mean, look at them. Look at that sexy lacing down the back. How could I not buy them? You’ll see these a lot now that the weather is starting to get a little cooler. And, yes, that’s Lola photobombing me.

WHERE I WORE IT

I wore this outfit to work. I didn’t have any meetings or anything that day, which is rare. Normally, I have at least one Zoom meeting and a couple of in-person meetings. It was nice being able to catch up on work and, gosh, just be present without planning for, I don’t know, next {for lack of a better word or phrase}.
