Hey, y’all, hey! How are you doing? All is well over here. I’m enjoying my second day of vacation by writing this post and doing a bit of cleanup before we move into the new year. I’m not just cleaning up my physical space, but my digital space as well. I’ve finally emptied my closet of all the things I know I’m never gonna wear. Honestly, it was hard. I know people say we shouldn’t become attached to things, but there were specific reasons why I bought certain articles of clothing and there are memories attached. Still. The practical side of me said to let the stuff go to people who’ll appreciate it. Now I need to do the same with my online space: get rid of social media accounts I don’t use, unfollow people I don’t interact with, etc. It’s time.
How are you preparing for 2026? Are you cleaning up or just letting it ride?
WHAT I WORE
Many years ago, I worked at a job where our supervisor insisted that we wear blazers {the men had to wear ties} every day. It pissed me off. I was so not a blazer girl. In fact, my little act of rebellion was to buy leather, suede, and denim blazers {she didn’t specifically say no denim blazers}. As soon as we moved I changed jobs, I tossed my blazers. Yeah, I know. Now look at me, wishing I’d held on to them because, you know what? I LOVE A BLAZER! No matter what I’m wearing, I feel like a blazer completes the ‘fit in a way that cardigans simply don’t.
Hands down, my favorite blazer combination is a blazer and jeans. I firmly believe that jeans are professional wear. I’ve worked in places where jeans are not allowed, however, leggings, tee shirt dresses, and cropped pants are. Of course, the jeans should be clean with minimal distressing, but still… Jeans are pants and they can look classy. To say otherwise is kind of elitist.
hops down off my soapbox
I found this blouse on the TikTok shop. It’s a baby doll style top, which is my favorite when it comes to blouses. While the material isn’t my favorite, I do love the print and style. It’s super easy to wear.
I almost exclusively wear dark wash jeans when I wear jeans to work. I just think they’re a little more elevated.
Wedge boots have become my jam. They’re so comfortable and easy to wear. In particular, these boots look fabulous with jeans, pants, skirts, and dresses.
WHERE I WORE IT
I wore this outfit to a library conference. The conference rooms were chilly and the blazer provided just the right amount of warmth. I also felt incredibly pulled together.
