Where Bloggers Live: 10 Things I Can’t Live Without
Hi, thank you for joining me for another round of Where Bloggers Live.
THE PROMPT: 10 Things I can’t live without
Let’s just say that my faith and family {this includes the furry members} are a given when it comes to things I can’s live without. I think, for most people, we love those things unconditionally and cannot imagine how differently our lives would be without them. So, I’m just gonna share some random things that I cannot live without:
- Books – Reading is a form of resistance. Black people were denied the right to read and write, therefore, I consider it my obligation to read and encourage others to read at every opportunity. And, for the record, listening to an audiobook counts as reading.
- Glasses – I’ve always known that I can’t see, but during the first week of the COVID-19 lockdowns, I broke my glasses and realized that I’m the weakest link.
- Coffee – My paternal grandma was a coffee drinker. My most vivid memories are of her sitting at the kitchen table, a steaming cup of coffee at the ready, with a curl of cigarette smoke escaping her lips while she laughed at Dominque Devereaux’s shenanigans. Grandma was a big fan of the evening soaps, and I spent many evenings with her and my aunt watching all the crazy.
- Camera – I love taking pictures. There’s something about documenting a special time and place, preserving memories, and seeing my vision unfold.
- Car – I like having control over my ability to leave when I’m ready to go. Because I’m always ready to go.
- Cell phone – It’s always with me. I love being connected to my people. I also like having access to information.
- Social media – Yes, I said it. I keep connected to so many family and friends using social media, I honestly don’t know what I’d do without social media.
- Birkenstocks – If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok, you know I loooooove clogs, but I do not wear clogs around the house. I wear Birkenstocks. They’re super comfortable and versatile.
- Clogs – Clogs are some of the most versatile pairs of shoes I wear. They can be worn with dresses, pants, muus, etc. They’re also great in both warm and cool temps.
- Garden/Plants – My green things stress me out and bring me peace. It’s a weird little relationship that we have.
