Disclaimer: As the blogger and photographer behind Living Outside the Stacks, I independently select and write about stuff I love and things I think you’ll enjoy too. I purchased Clucks & Kisses Lip Balm and Ruffled Feathers Salve for my own personal use. I like the products and wanted to share them with you.

I AM NOT OFFERING MEDICAL ADVICE NOR IS THIS PRODUCT SOLD AS A MEDICAL CURE. I’M JUST LETTING YOU KNOW ABOUT A PRODUCT THAT I USE AND ENJOY. I’M ALSO A BIG SUPPORTER OF SMALL BUSINESSES.

*jumping off my soap box*

I’ve always had sensitive skin, but the most sensitive part of my body is my face. Right down the center to be specific. I was born with a red birthmark from my hairline, extending down to just below my bottom lip, with a little patch on the back of my neck. As I’ve aged, the line has faded and is really only visible when I’m emotional {crying hard or laughing harder}.

The one thing that hasn’t changed is the need for intense moisturizing of that particular part of my face. I’m not sure why, but that area is incredibly dry and flaky.

After I clean my face, I take a little bit of salve {because a little goes a long way} and rub it between my palms until it emulsifies, then I rub it into my skin. I usually do this at night before bed, so that my skin softens while I sleep. And, ummm, the lavender scent is just so relaxing. In fact, there’s a brand that sells a lavender rub for bedtime relaxation, I’m fairly certain you can use this salve along the same lines….

Besides using the salve for my forehead, I also use it to smooth my eyebrows, soften my cuticles, soothe my feet at the end of the day, and tame fly away hairs.

ABOUT CHICKEN LIBRARIAN

Kristin is a homesteading blogger who’s living a “…handmade life while free ranging on the banks of the Delaware River, with the Mister, a good girl pup, and two very bad kitties.”

I’m not sure how Kristin and I met, but I’m pretty sure it was on Instagram. We definitely bonded on Instagram over pie and photography. Go look at her pictures now. They’re so pretty. You can see them on her blog, Chicken Librarian.

You can check out the homemade products in her shop here.

Stay well and support small businesses,
