The Hubs is a total car guy. Whenever he talks to me about them, I get the same glazed over look in my eyes that he gets when I talk to him about photography. Truth be told, I like looking at old cars, I even like riding in the car when he races, but I do not like discussing them. Fortunately for him, he has a bunch of friends who totally enjoy those conversations and they leave me to take pictures.

I follow one of our local coffee shops, Tamp and Grind, on Instagram and saw that they were hosting Coffee and Cars this weekend, so I sent The Hubs an invite. He insists that I call it “Coffee and Cars”, but we all know what’s important here…

I didn’t get any snaps of the coffee shop, which is unfortunate, because it really is a funky little cafĂ©. Next time I’m inside, I’ll ask if it’s OK for me to take some pictures.

I was able to take a few pictures of the show cars…

THE CARS

Aren’t they beautiful? The first car belongs to The Hubs. It’s a Chevy SS and he adores it… The color is one of those that looks different depending upon where you’re standing and what time of day it is.

MY NEW COFFEE MUG

There were a few vendors dotted along the street. Of course, I went straight for the pottery and found myself a pretty little coffee mug, made by Elizebette Kennedy.

WALL ART

I love love love the wall art in downtown Alexandria. I’m not sure who does it, but I do know that one of the local advertising agencies sponsors a wall and it’s kind of a “thing” to get your picture made in front of it. It’s down the street from where I work, but I have yet to get a picture. I know, I know. Bad photographer, community tourist, etc. But I will get it done…

In the meantime, you can see some of my other pictures from downtown Alexandria here.
