About the Fab Forties
The Fab Forties is a group of style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Five different ladies, five different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.
The Theme
For this month, Ada asked us to style an all black outfit, and let me tell you, this was hard, hard, hard. I have so little black in my closet. Or rather, so little all black in my closet. Everything has some sort of print to it and I really wanted to keep with the spirit of the challenge.
MY LOOK
When I put together this outfit, I considered two things:
- What do I have that’s all black?
- What would I actually wear?
My slouchy sweater answered both questions. Most of the time I wear it when I’m just relaxing around the house, usually with jeans or leggings. Not gonna lie, I like the way it falls off my shoulder. My pants are dress slacks that are a bit too big and baggy, but they fit the relaxed mood that I was going for. If the weather wasn’t so gross, I would’ve worn sandals instead of boots. The jewelry is just fun and served as a nice break from all of the black.
