Kreative Blogger Award
Guess who has two thumbs, a camera, her own little space on the web and has been awarded the Kreative Blogger Award? That’s right, this girl right here. Can I tell you how excited I am about this? Well, I’m very… I was given the award by Natasha at Houseful of Nicholes. If you haven’t visited her blog, you should definitely do so. She is the craftiest library~saving momma this side of the Pecos. OK, I don’t know about the Pecos part but I do know that lady can sew up a storm and she’s a big~time library crusader. So please, go check her out. So the rules of the…

Shoe Style Saturday
I thought boot wearing weather had come to an end. Does boot wearing weather every really come to an end though? It’s bordered on freezing here. OK, slight exaggeration but after the near 80s we were having, the 50s and 60s feels kinda frigid. Has the weather done a sudden flip where you are too? Even with the cool weather, I did get out and do a bit of wandering around the area with my camera in tow. The Mississippi Riverfront is one of my fave places to go when I wanna just people watch or take some pictures of different architectural settings. Have I told you how much I…

Getting to Know Missouri {This or That Thursday}
A couple of days ago I spent some time down at the Mississippi Riverfront, in the Historic District. While there, I took a few pictures of some of the buildings that are undergoing rehabilitation. They’re turning them into lofts {if it weren’t for the kids, I would beg the hubs to move into one}. I took a peek inside one of the windows ~ exposed brick, great metalwork, etc. On my way home, I passed by this charming little antique shop and I just had to go inside. Once inside I roamed the aisles and made a sweet little discovery… My sisters and I had very similar rabbits when we…

When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus {Word Filled Wednesday}
When we moved to Missouri, I tried not to think about all the things that I’d be giving up {a career that I loved, people I enjoyed working with on a daily basis, etc.} and focus on the things that I’d be gaining {living closer to my family, a promotion for the hubs, etc.} but it was still scary. I practically hyperventilated every time I thought about all the bills. Bills we still had to pay. On one salary. Yes, the hubs got a promotion but it didn’t come with a two~person salary increase. Our house in Pennsylvania still hasn’t sold. We have a kid in college, two in high…

Bad Hair Day + Cute Shoes = Balance?
Today was one of them days. I had an appointment with the endocrinologist ~ stupid nonexistent thyroid is making me crazy again. After talking to the doctor, we’ve decided the best course of action is to lower my meds and try to get my thyroid levels under control. But you know what was bothering me more than my thyroid {or lack there of} this morning? My hair. Yes, y’all, I was having the mother of bad hair days today. I couldn’t even focus on the doctor’s questions because I was thinking about the crazy mop that was sitting on my head. I tried a new hair product and was less…

My Weekend {Instagram Edition}
How was your Easter weekend? Ours was pretty nice. Church was incredible ~ how could it not be, we’re serving a risen savior!? The kids and I enjoyed a wonderful French Toast breakfast prepared for us by the hubs. Seriously, moving to Missouri has brought out some hidden culinary skills in that man. I would have taken a picture of our breakfast but, um, the food looked too good to stop everyone from digging in, so you have a picture of our coffee cups. I took a couple of hours out of my day to go to the Conservation Center and reflect on life and all of the blessings that…

April Photo~A~Day {This or That Thursday}
I didn’t get a chance to get out much this week to take any pictures, between doctor’s appointments, household chores and a massive headache, picture~taking was low on the list of priorities. But I did manage to squeeze in a few shots for the April Photo~A~Day Challenge. So much fun… 1. Your Reflection I edited this old picture of myself using PhotoFunia {such a fun app}. What photography apps do you use? Instagram is now available for Droid users so I’m way over the moon now. 2. Color Some funky bead bracelets that I rarely wear but enjoy playing with. Seriously, I sit there and roll the beads between my fingers.…

Finished Baby Blanket {Yarn Along}
A few weeks ago, a friend (and mentor) of mine sent me a message on Facebook letting me know that he and his wife are expecting their first child this spring. To say I was excited for them would be putting it mildly. I get a little misty every. single. time. a friend tells me they’re expecting. Chalk it up to my uterus being closed for business. Anyway, I immediately started thinking about what I could get for the new little person. I wanted something thoughtful and original, something that would reflect the respect that I have for the parents… And that’s when it occurred to me to make a…
