How to Create a Blog Signature Using PicMonkey {Tip Tuesday}
So a few weeks ago I talked about how I wanted to spruce things up for Autumn because, well, I just don’t have the insert whatever word here to decorate my house. My original plan was to simply update my profile picture isn’t it cute? but that led to me updating my Twitter profile, which carried over to me updating the cover photo on my Facebook page, and ended with me overhauling my blog. Snowball rolling down hill, anyone? Of course,I now have to change my signature so that it matches the feel of my new blog. sigh So, I started looking around at different signature creators, rolled my eyes, and thought, why…

Throwback Thursday: Handwritten Treasures {In the Dark Room}
Folded in my wallet are four letters that my sweet little babies wrote to me when I left home for my first business trip. At the time, they were 4, 6, 6, and 8. The notes were neatly tucked in the side pocket of my suitcase, to be discovered when I unpacked. What’re you sharing for Throwback Thursday? Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Five Tips for Updating Your Profile Picture {Tip Tuesday}
What is it about Autumn that makes people think pumpkins belong in everything? It does not. Pumpkins are good for three things: decorating, making pies, and describing a shade of orange. That is all. deep cleansing breath I have issues with pumpkin mania but that has absolutely nothing to do with this post except that the insanity starts in Autumn and Autumn makes me wanna change everything… Usually, I focus the changing on things like my closet. You know, organizing my collection of cardis, checking my tights for runs, etc. But this year, I decided to do something a little different. I decided to update my profile picture to match…

3 Favorite Photography Apps for Android {In the Dark Room}
Raise your hand if you’re ready for the Android phone to get some love… raises hands and jumps around wildly I was one of those people who waited with baited breath for Instagram to come to Android. In fact, I like to think that I was one of the first to download the app. My kids were all “We have a hipster mom; snapping pics of her food and filtering it to death.” Whatevs, kids… Instagram is all about sharing stories with pictures, connecting with friends, and making memories. I use Instagram to share morning coffee with my friends and offer words of encouragement. But over time, I got tired…

Weekend Update {In the Neighborhood}
The 4th of July weekend has come and gone. Way too quickly. We didn’t have any real plans because I had to work on Friday, so we just kinda played it by ear. 1. Why is it during the week day I could sleep til noon, but come the weekend my internal alarm goes off at 5:30 AM? The only way to make it through was with an extra large cup of coffee. Actually, that’s how I start just about every morning but you knew that already, didn’t ya? 2. The hubs and I went to the park to see the car show. There were so many vintage cars, tricked…

July Photo A Day Challenge {In the Dark Room}
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve participated in the Photo A Day Challenge hosted by Fat Mum Slim. I think I’ve been so focused on running and training for my 5K that I’ve forgotten to just enjoy taking photos, I hope this will get me back in the groove. As usual, I’ll be participating on Instagram, you can follow me by clicking here. I’ll try to remember to do a weekly round up of photos here, just so I can get back in the habit of sharing something other than my sweaty face. Are you participating? Leave a link in the comments so I can check out your photos.…

Rain Drops {In the Dark Room}
This week’s theme for the 365 Project: 2013 Edition is “Water”. This is one of my submissions for this week; if you’d like to see the rest of my daily pictures, click here. Such an appropriate theme for this week, it has been raining almost every day. Well, no, that’s not true. It only seems to rain on the weekends or when I have the day off. A conspiracy? I think so. It’s the Little Things {In the Dark Room}
I realized this morning that it’s been a while since I’ve shared a photo from my 365 Project: 2013 Edition. Truth be told, I’m having a difficult time keeping up with the project. There’ve been times when I just haven’t felt inspired. I see my camera sitting on the end table and have no real desire to pick it up. I keep looking around my house and saying “They’ve seen it all.” Which makes me wonder, who am I taking pictures for? When I started this project, I wanted to document my 4oth year. My life isn’t always fun and exciting. Sometimes the highlight of my day is making a…
