    Modern Design Tungsten Ring Review {#Sponsored}

    About three weeks ago, I bought the hubs a Tungsten bracelet. It was something that I didn’t think he’d pick for himself but something that I thought he’d like because, well, it’s different from anything else he owns. When I presented him with the bracelet, he was genuinely surprised and, more importantly, totally “in like” with it. So we started searching for a Tungsten ring… A few days later, I was contacted by Modern Design, Inc. with the opportunity to review a Tungsten ring. Seriously, is that not the best timing ever? I immediately called up the hubs and asked if he was game. Of course, he said “yes”.

    Coffee Talk {In the Cafe}

    Hi, and welcome to Coffee Talk. In case you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever.  And there may be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun. 1. Two weeks ago Terrilynn Monette was out celebrating her “Teacher of the Year” nomination, within a few hours she would vanish without a trace. There’s so much wrong with this story that it’s hard to find the beginning… Monette was last seen celebrating with friends at Parlay’s,…

    Coffee Talk {In the Cafe}

    1. Did you hear about the Houston waiter who refused to serve a family because they asked to be moved away from a family who had a child with Down syndrome? The father reportedly said “Special needs children need to be special somewhere else.” It takes a special kind of idiot to be that insensitive towards a child, any child. The waiter overheard the comment and told the customer that he would be unable to serve them. Fist bump for the waiter because he lost a tip on that one (I’m guessing the family weren’t big tippers though just from the butt headedness displayed, so he may not have lost…

    This or That Thursday {Getting to Know Missouri}

    Two days ago, while out driving with Miss 18, I got a little lost and ended up in a town called Burfordville. Burfordville is a sleepy little historic town which boasts one of Missouri’s few remaining covered bridges as well as a mill that was built in 1800, damaged during the Civil War and later rebuilt. If you’d like to read more about the Bollinger Mill Historic Site, you can click here (there are also some pretty sweet pictures of the mill and the bridge). While wandering around, my daughter and I noticed a little antique shop and decided to look around.  The owner was gracious enough to allow me to…

    Shopping in NEPA: the Bare Accessories

    People are always asking me about my jewelry, they want to know where I bought it or who made it or if they can get something similar.  I always tell them “Yes!” and then I proceed to tell them exactly where I purchased each piece, how much I paid for it and who they should talk to when they get to the store.  I especially love doing this with small, locally owned businesses ~ when you buy local, you help your community. Anyway, about a month ago, Miss 16 and I were shopping for accessories for her prom dress when we stumbled across a lovely little store at the Shoppes…
