Shoe Style Saturday
Frankenstein Shoes. Roach Killers. Snow Crushers. Butt Ugly Shoes. These shoes have been called just about every name in the book, yet, they’ve remained in my closet for almost 13 years. Whenever I feel insecure or unsure about something, these are my go~to shoes. No, they’re not pretty. They’re not even comfortable. Yet, there’s something about them that makes me feel strong and confident when I slip them on my feet. Maybe it’s the heaviness of the sole that remind me of my days in the Army. Oh, you should have seen me then. I was The Woman. I oozed confidence. Or maybe it’s the barely hanging on by a…

Shoe Style Saturday
This picture was actually taken last year while the hubs and I were driving around the lake. At this point, I actually begged him to stop the car so I could get a shot of my shoes with the lake as a background. I love when the hubs indulges my crazy. Shoe Style Saturday
I can’t remember when or where I bought the shoes but I can remember when I bought the bag… I had just graduated from Drexel University and, with shiny degree in hand, was preparing to get my first full~time position as a librarian at a local college. For the interview, I wanted a stylish briefcase and a cute suit. Conventional wisdom said to go with one of the safe colors like brown, black or navy leather case but, um, that’s so not me. I didn’t choose a “safe” black suit either. Anyway, I happened to be watching TV when this beautiful briefcase came on the air, it was a Dooney…

So, come on and show me your femme fatale flats, those sexy stilettos and pin~up peep toes, yes, even your racy runners. Milani Slippers ~ Burlington Coat Factory Love them because they’re comfortable and funky. I can wear them with jeans, skirts, slacks,…

Day 12: Something I’m OCD About
Ha! This is an easy one. I’m hyper~organized. I used to be in the Army and one of the first things they drilled into my head was organization ~ socks, tees, undies, they all had to be folded/rolled up so they were the same length as a dollar bill. I remember taping my things to the bottom of my drawer so they wouldn’t roll around when the drawer closed and using toilet paper roll inserts to keep my tees smooth. There was nothing worse than failing an inspection. Anyway, that need for organization has stuck. I often tell my children that I could get dressed in the dark and…
