As the blogger and photographer behind Living Outside the Stacks, I independently select and write about stuff I love and things I think you’ll enjoy too. Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support.

Hey, y’all, hey. How are y’all doing? I’m doing well. We’re at the break in our term, so I can breathe. A little bit. We’re still working on our SACS accreditation so it’s not a real break. Still, it’s better than nothing.

That being said, I do plan to spend some of my down time crocheting another sweater. If you’d like to see the one I’m currently working on, visit me on Instagram. This is a relatively easy pattern I’m using, so it’s working up quickly. I respond well to immediate gratification, so this works out well for me.

What about you? Do you have plans for the Christmas break? Do you get a break? How will you spend it?

ABOUT WHERE BLOGGERS LIVE

Welcome to the monthly edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and see inside people’s homes? Over the next few months, we’ll share about our work spaces, home towns, and more!

I should note – because this is super important – the creative brain behind this project is Bettye at Fashion Schlub! Love her!

THE THEME: Favorite Piece of Jewelry

I feel like I’m matrimonialy obligated to say my wedding set. Yes, I love it. The Hubs bought it for me twenty-something years ago when we were both stationed at Fort Polk.

That being said, the piece that I treasure the most is a simple initial necklace purchased for me by my kids at the school’s Christmas store when they were in elementary school. I still remember how excited they were when they handed it to me – wrapped in tissue paper and a plastic baggy. Two of the kids wanted me to wait until Christmas, the other two wanted me to open it immediately. They split the difference by telling me that it was a necklace. LOL

Whenever I need to fill in the neckline of an outfit but I’m not sure what to sear, I reach for my initial necklace. It’s comforting and it reminds me of my babies.

IT’S YOUR TURN

Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry? I’d love to read the story, please share in the comments.
