Whats In My Suitcase {living outside the stacks} Follow @DaenelT on Instagram

How fun is my suitcase? You can see a little bit of it in the trunk of my car in the picture. It’s a Betsy Johnson piece that I found years ago at Marshall’s. They had a smaller under seat suitcase that I routinely kick myself for not buying. I didn’t think I’d need it. I was looks around for family members wrong. Now I can’t find a matching piece to save my life. I’m not a big matchy matchy person anyway, so I’ll probably just buy something that goes with, ya know? I’ve been eyeballing the Lug bags but haven’t made the purchase yet. QVC usually has some really good deals on their bags, especially around the holidays. I don’t know, maybe I’ll get one then. I used to be a big Vera Bradley fan, but I gave those all away. I liked them because I could fold them up until I was ready to use them. The patterns were also pretty fun too. I have a lot of travel coming up in the next few months, so I need to go ahead and do something… What are you carrying? Do you have any recommendations?

THE THEME: What’s in my suitcase?

Beyond the toiletries, under garments, hair stuff, and makeup, there is generally no rhyme or reason for why I put things in my suitcase. In fact, I’d say I’m an over packer. I try real hard to limit my packing to a handful of mix and match pieces but then I start thinking about my mood and the weather and where I may be going and who I may be going with and then by the time I’ve closed my suitcase, I’ve packed up all kinds of outfits that make no sense, including stuff that I don’t even wear when I’m home. Then, without fail, I’ll buy a few new pieces because I always wanna try out something new and exciting whenever I travel.

But this year, I’m trying to be more intentional with my outfits. I have two big work events coming up: LOUIS Users Conference (library thing) and SACSCOC Conference (college thing), so I’m only packing my Zuri dresses.

I bought them specifically for work travel because they’re comfortable, can be worn in a variety of ways, have a lot of personality, temp and work appropriate, and they have pockets.

I also pack a lot of shoes. I’m a big shoe girl, so I need a variety of footwear. My clogs are always in my suitcase. I also pack ankle boots and knee high boots. Unless it’s summer. Then I’m packing clogs and sandals. I also throw in a pair of brogues, just in case. And slippers. Because I’m not walking on any hotel carpet in my bare feet. I don’t care how nice the hotel is.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

What’s in your suitcase?
