Hey, y’all, hey! How’s your 2024 going so far? To watch the news, you’d think 2023 had a meeting and was like “Yo, it’s time to square up” because 2024 came in kicking butt and taking names. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come because *whew* I’m already over it.

On a personal level, things are exhale a giant of sigh of relief I came in to 2024 waiting to have a breast ultrasound because my mammogram showed “areas of concern.” Talk about stressed. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing but a bunch of cysts, but the waiting… I’m glad it’s over.

Other than that, things are pretty much the same – I’m going to work and coming home, complaining about the cold when it’s below 72°, and sending memes to my family members. It’s the little things.

ABOUT 10 ON THE 10TH

10 on the 10th is hosted by Marsha at Marsha in the Middle. In the tradition of old school blogging, she’ll share a list of ten questions or prompts to help us get to know each other better. The linkup goes live on the tenth of the month.

THE PROMPT: 10 things I want to accomplish, learn, master, create, etc.

I’m not big on resolutions or setting beginning of the year goals. I always end up letting myself down because whatever it is that I’ve planned, I’ve stopped working on it by the third week in. I’ve been this way since forever. So at least I’m consistent. But since I started this post, I’m gonna complete it.

1. I want to crochet a cardi that I’ll actually wear in public. I’m working on one now, and while the main body colors have a vintage feel, I messed up by throwing random black and white squares in the mix. I thought it’d give the cardi a mod vibe, but no. I have the option of frogging it and removing the black and white squares or completing the cardi and wearing it around the house. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do yet.

2. I really want to build up my audiobook review cred. I’ve really developed an affinity for audiobooks — they’re convenient and they allow me to read way more than I would if I were reading an ebook or print book. Right now, I’m receiving audiobooks from NetGalley, but I’d like to work with other companies as well.

3. In that same vein, I want to finish reading King: A Life with my Instagram group. The book is a whopping 557 pages long. This may be the biggest book I’ve read since I was in college.

4. I want to be more consistent in my workouts. I say that as I sit here in my pajamas that I changed into almost as soon as I walked through the door from work. I have a Peloton that I’ve used ONCE since the beginning of the year. The funny thing is I used to be addicted to that thing. And when I’m on it, I really enjoy it, it’s just a matter of getting on it.

5. I’m trying desperately to come up with one more thing and I’m stumped. Can I come back to this post if I think of something later on?

I’d love to read your answers to a couple of these questions, please share in the comments below.
