Coffee Talk {Living Outside the Stacks}

Hi, and welcome to Coffee Talk. In case you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

So grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk…

1. Imagine you hear a mother screaming because her child has been kidnapped. What do you do? Now imagine you’re a teenager and the only tool you have at your disposal is a bicycle. What do you do? If you’re these teens, you get on your bikes and chase after the kidnapper and rescue the little girl. Yes! These Pennsylvania teens deserve to be the on the cover of every newspaper and the headline story on every news program. I hope they get every blessing and good thing they deserve. God bless them and God bless the family of the little girl they rescued.

2. A couple of days ago, while perusing the web, I saw a picture of what looked like cardboard signs posted to a hospital window but, for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what it said. Today, I happened to be on CNN.com and they had a follow up story:

Apparently, the mother of a child on the cancer ward and had posted a sign in the window that read “Send Pizza. Room 4112.” Well, some folks from Reddit.com saw the picture and sent so many pizzas that the hospital had to ask people to stop. Heart melt.

3. Womb Watch Update:  The Royal baby is due any minute.

4. Are you watching Under the Dome on Monday nights? I was really digging it the first few episodes. Seriously, who wouldn’t? A giant dome falls on top of an entire town, splitting animals in half, and revealing more crazy than most cities? But now? I’m ready for this dome to either disappear or suck the air out of every last one of those people. The only person I’m still remotely interested in is the crazy boyfriend and that’s ‘cause he’s a psychological study in all things *insert Psycho music here*.

What had you scratchin’ your head this past week?
