Frankenstein Shoes. Roach Killers. Snow Crushers. Butt Ugly Shoes. These shoes have been called just about every name in the book, yet, they’ve remained in my closet for almost 13 years. Racism, Black Women and Psychology Today
Have you ever read something that was so completely ridiculous that you weren’t sure whether to be angry or stunned by its stupidity? Yes? Good, because that’s how I felt when I read evolutionary psychologist, Satoshi Kanazawa’s blog post, “Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women?” in Psychology Today. They’ve since removed the article, but there are cached versions out there. I won’t link to them because I don’t want Psychology Today getting any traffic from my blog. You know how you have a teenage daughter and they sigh and huff at everything because you just don’t get it because you’re only mom and you’ve never been cool?
