    Gold Gladiator Sandals {Shoe Style Saturday}

    10 August 2012 / 8 Comments

    Another week has come to an end. sigh This is our last week of short days at the library. During the summer we work from 8 AM to 4 PM and during the school year we work from 8 AM to 5 PM. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but that hour really does make a difference. But I’m thinking time should pass quickly, since the students are coming back on campus at the end of the week, the work load will pick up so here’s hoping, right? A few weeks ago, I was in the thrift store and I found this chair. Something about it called my name…

    Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}

    10 August 2012 / 8 Comments

    1. Honey Boo Boo. What in the world is this craziness on TLC? Have you seen that show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”? I didn’t realize what it was when I first turned it on, I honestly thought it was a new cartoon on one of the kiddie channels. Why in the world would parents subject their kids to that kind of madness? You know, everyone in the world is going to be dogging those kids out (and their parents). How is this helpful to the kids? I know the parents are probably making money off this but pimping out the babies and setting them up for ridicule? Yeah, not…

    Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #8 {#Cinchspiration}

    6 August 2012 / 7 Comments

    So, ummmmm, no scale picture today. But I will provide an update anyway. I’ve gained 1.4 lbs since last week but I’m not sweating it. Why, you may ask? Because I’ve lost 2 inches off my waist! Yes, 2 whole inches.  I am beyond thrilled. Last week I bought a pair of jeans that were a little snug so that I wouldn’t have to wear a belt (a fashion thing, I hate wearing belts especially when they leave that lumpy buckle under my tees)… Anyway, I now need a belt to keep my pants up. It ain’t sexy when you have to do the pull up your pants wiggle every…

    Blue Thong Sandals {Shoe Style Saturday}

    4 August 2012 / 8 Comments

    See those thongs? I picked them because the color just screamed”Take me home, we’ll have lots of fun together!” So I did. Big honkin’ mistake. I wore them to work and half way through the day I ended up putting on my walking shoes that keep under my desk for midday walks. My feet were killing me. I know those types of shoes have a break in period but ohmyword that was just painful. I’ve always lived by the mantra of “Fashion over function” but if your feet hurt, there’s nothing you can do to make the day better… In other news, I’ve been doing really well with the August…

    Clouds {This Or That Thursday}

    2 August 2012 / 4 Comments

    Last week, we had some crazy weather. It was soooo hot. I think we hit the triple digits or very close to it most of the week but Thursday just flipped the script. While I was at work, I happened to look out my window and noticed that the clouds looked a little, ummm, odd. So, I did what any normal person would do, I grabbed my Nikon and ran outside and started snapping away… I only took a couple of shots before it started raining so I quickly ran back inside… But the cloud show started again almost as soon as I got home… I decided not to edit,…

    Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #7 {#Cinchspiration}

    30 July 2012 / 1 Comment

    I have not exercised at all. Last week, our church was crazy busy and I was just making it home from work with enough time to shower, make dinner for the family and get out of the house, so that left little time for anything else. Confession: On days when I haven’t had time to cook, I’ve eaten fast food. This week will also be pretty busy, so I’m going to have to set my alarm a little earlier and get up to do something. Groan I am not a morning person, but I know if I want to see something happen I have to start doing things a bit…

    Yellow Wedges {Shoe Style Saturday}

    28 July 2012 / 6 Comments

    This was a pretty long week. I don’t know if I mentioned it here, but we’re in the process of trying to buy a new home and, lemme tell ya, the process is exhausting. The hubs and I are a realtor’s dream, we know what we want, we find it and we get it. We accept that houses will have things wrong, even new homes, we call it “character”. We try not to nit pick, we talk about changing the things we can and dealing with what we can’t. It’s just that simple… So this week has been dealing with the butterflies and dragonflies flittering in my stomach while we…

    Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}

    27 July 2012 / 7 Comments

    1. That Penn State situation is just getting crazier and crazier. I’m wondering if they’re going to just call it a day and close the school down? Is there any way for them to recover from this? The NCAA has levied all kinds of fines against the school, students are transferring, lawsuits are being filed… In fact, the lawyers for the victim #2 have released an audio of Sandusky offering the guy tickets to the Penn State game if he wants them. Nice. Sandusky ends the call by saying “I love you.” I’m not a violent person but even I want to punch his teeth in. Seriously? His actions are…

    Giving Thanks for the Small Things {This or That Thursday}

    26 July 2012 / 6 Comments

    Sometimes I get so caught up in the big picture that I miss the little things. For example, I took this picture using Instagram because I thought the light coming off the setting sun was just beautiful. In fact, I was so awestruck by the evening sky that I didn’t even notice the lone shopping cart until after I had posted the picture. And it made me think, how many times have I been so involved in the “big” things of life that I forget to give thanks for the “little” things? Life has no guarantees, in fact, Psalm 103:15~16 says: “The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish…
