The View: Learn to Use Your Words, People
Although The View Moms Brand Ambassador campaign has ended, I will still be writing the occasional post about any Hot Topics that appeal to me because, well, that’s what I do. So far, I’ve stayed out of the healthcare debate and I’ve pretty much avoided the downright rude comments directed at Elizabeth Hasselbeck, but now I won’t be silent any longer. For weeks now I’ve read comments on various The View fan pages that suggest that Elizabeth ought to shut up or that she is annoying or that her voice is grating, etc. There are also those who say they don’t watch the show because of Elizabeth. The problem isn’t her voice or that…

The View Blab Fest
Today is the last day of The View Moms Brand Ambassador campaign. Sniffle. I’ve had so much fun tweeting with The View Moms and writing (and reading) blog posts about the show. I’ll probably do some form of Hot Topic blogging in the future, just not on a regular basis like I’ve been doing for the campaign. So stay tuned and, as always, feel free to leave a comment, you know I enjoy the conversation. Hot Topics I Can’t Hold a Grudge Even if Oprah Says I Should Oprah says that you should have a 3 grudge rule ~ if someone rubs you the wrong way 3 times, hold a…

I Have a Diagnosis
Yesterday my husband drove me to the Wills Eye Hospital in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania to see an eye specialist about my sudden vision loss. After much testing ~ including blood work, vegetable dye chasers and lots of eye scans ~ the doctor diagnosed me with Multiple Evanescent White Dot Syndrome (MEWDS). Doesn’t it sound like I have fizzy water floating around my eye? MEWDS is a rare eye disease that affects young women (so take that “at your age“) between the ages of 14 and 47. Men can get MEWDS too but women seem to suffer from it by a 5 to 1 average. MEWDS is usually preceded by a…

The View Blab Fest
I am so ready to get my blab on… I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve tweeted with the girls. And, boy, have I missed our daily chat fests. In fact, I have like two minutes to go grab a cup of coffee before the Hot Topics… So today’s edition of The View is dealing with women and addiction (drugs, alcohol and sex addiction). Hmmm, I wonder what prompted this topic? I only ask because there hasn’t been a deluge of news about addicted women or anything. Although there was that spate of time when it seemed like moms in minivans were causing accidents left and right due to alcohol. Today’s guest co~host…

Um, Yeah, Go to the Doctor
Just a brief vlog to let my friends know why I’ve been absent… Naturally, I will update you all as soon as I know something more. In the mean time, do not be stupid like I was ~ if you go to bed able to see and you wake up unable to see, go see a doctor! PS I actually turned 37 last week but I’m so flustered by that whole “at your age” thing that I can’t think straight anymore.

The View Blab Fest
I haven’t been able to Tweet The View for the past few days because I am down to one eye and following twitter is a little bit difficult right now. I miss you, The View Moms! Therefore, I’ll be blogging the Hot Topics, so let the blabbing begin…. Hot Topics Rielle Hunter’s *ahem* GQ Spread Rielle Hunter is John Edward’s baby momma, for those who don’t know. Recently she did an interview for GQ Magazine and in the article she is posing seductively with some of her daughter’s toys. I won’t comment on the article or the affair (because, quite honestly, I could care less) but I will offer this tiny bit…

Welcome to My New Home
After much househunting, I’ve finally settled on a new home and I think I’ll be very happy in my new neighborhood. I’d like to thank Kat J. Robertson for packing and unpacking the boxes for me. She also took care of the interior decorating (also known as setting up my domain, importing my blog and all of its belongings and tweaking the CSS) for me. She did a fabulous job, no? Please take a look around and let me know what you think. There’s a fresh pot of coffee brewing and, if you check the fridge, you’ll find fresh fruit (this is a healthy house, afterall).

The View Blab Fest
Whoopi’s back! Now all is right with The View. I absolutely love her ~ even when she’s being rude and obnoxious, she’s funny as heck. Hot Topics Whoopi Tips Her Dreads Whoopi’s been away from The View filming a movie with Kate Hudson in New Orleans. While there she had a little tour of the city and stated that she was “tipping her dreads” to Brad Pitt for all the hard work he has put into rebuilding the 9th Ward. Apparently he is doing some marvelous things there. I’m happy that she gave an update on my adopted city. Betcha didn’t know I used to party live there back in…

It’s Over…For a Couple of Weeks Anyway
Last night was my last class of the semester. Oh, wait, you may not know this but in my other life I teach American History at one of the local Universities. The classes are 7 weeks long and meet once a week for 4 hours. Yes, I said 4 hours! I also teach traditional classes but I think by far my favorite has to be the 7 week session. Generally, my students are Nursing or Physical Therapy majors who are taking the class during the short session because they use the longer sessions for labs and such. At the beginning of the semester, I usually have the students go around…

Product Review and Giveaway: Olay Total Effects Body Wash (Closed)
I’ll be celebrating my birthday in a week and I’m not thrilled because it puts me three years closer to the big 4~0. Yes, I’m already agonizing over that birthday. In fact, I’m fighting the aging process every step of the way and with everything that I can possibly muster. Well, you know, everything except going under the knife. As I’ve gotten older (and had to start scrolling through the decades to find my birth year on those danged survey forms), I’ve noticed little things starting to change ~ fine lines around the eyes and mouth, dry skin on the arms and legs, limited elasticity, ok, I can’t go on….…
