I apologize for not posting this sooner but I’m with family and friends who have gathered to say “good bye” to my aunt, Sylvia, who lost her battle with breast cancer. This has been both a time of sadness and rejoicing. 1.On Friday I received a beautiful ‘Heart of Haiti’ pendant in the mail in exchange for a post that I’d written on behalf of Macy’s, as I read the thank you letter, I couldn’t help but to cry thinking about the artisans who create the pendants. These are women who create handmade works of art to support themselves and their children. Items range in price from about $8 to about $280. Have you ever read something that was so completely ridiculous that you weren’t sure whether to be angry or stunned by its stupidity? Yes? Good, because that’s how I felt when I read evolutionary psychologist, Satoshi Kanazawa’s blog post, “Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women?” in Psychology Today.
