Hello, wishing all of you an early Happy Thanksgiving. Do you have plans? We’re not doing much. It’ll just be The Hubs, our two youngest girls, and me this year. We’ve gone back and forth over whether or not we want a traditional meal. We’ve opted for a mix: Cornish Hen, baked macaroni and cheese, cornbread stuffing {do you say “dressing”?}, cranberry sauce {from a can because yes}, and pies {pumpkin for The Hubs and sweet potato for me}.…

Literary Graphic Tee: The Wizard of Oz
Did you see my post called Geek is Chic? In it I share my love of graphic tees. Especially book related graphic tees. Because, well, you know, librarian. One of my all~time favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz.* I mean, it’s all about shoes. And it has flying monkeys. What more could you want out of life? So when I found this tee on Etsy, I just knew I had to have it. No wonder the Wicked Witch was hunting Dorothy and her gang! These shoes are beyond fabulous and, believe it or not, they’re incredibly comfortable. Three and a half inch heels and I was able to wear…

Coffee Talk: A Question of Salvation
I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun. So grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk… My biological father died eight years ago last month and my biggest regret is that I didn’t take his last phone call. I saw his number on my…

Boho with the Fab 40s
I’m not really what you’d call a fashion or style blogger, I’m more of a “so this morning I was thinking about this or that and I decided to write about it blogger”, so I was thrilled beyond belief when Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots asked me to join her and the rest of the Fab 40s ladies for this month’s challenge: Bohemian. My personal style definitely leans towards the eclectic. I grew up in Italy and have lived all over the United States, so my fashion sense reflects those influences. I like a lot of color in muted tones and patterns – oh my word – I…

Bohemian Glam Caftan and Jeans
Have I mentioned how much I love caftans? I do. Seriously, Mrs. Roper had the right idea: throw on a colorful dress and call it a day. There’s no need to suck in, you don’t really have to worry about accessories {although she did wear some awesomely large bubble gumball necklaces}, and you’re comfortable all day long. I’ve been in one of those moods where I haven’t really felt like wearing a skirt or dress {my normal work day choice}, so I opted for this caftan. It’s so colorful and boho glam that even though I was comfortable, I felt like I was dressed up more than usual. My coworkers…

Pattern Mixing with Pixie Pants
I’m so ready for the remote for my camera to arrive! Seriously, do you know how hard it is to set the timer, run, and pray the focus is still set? I know it’s possible {back focus, I think it’s called} but I’m so not that skilled. So, for now, it’s slightly blurry pictures and wind blown hair. This cardi has been sitting in my drawer for~ever. When I saw it on TV {HSN}, I swooned. Sparkles! Bright colors! Floral print! But it was way beyond what I wanted to pay for a cardigan. I waited patiently for it to go on sale and then I scooped it up. Only…
