Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}
1. Burger King announced that it will be introducing the bacon sundae throughout the U.S. this summer. That is all. 2. House Hunters isn’t real, y’all. You know the show on HGTV that shows families touring, opining on and, ultimately, purchasing a new home, well, it’s staged. Is nothing sacred? According to the blog, Hooked on Houses, (written by Bobi, a former participant on the show), she and her husband had to actually purchase a home before they were selected to be on the show, then they asked friends if they could “tour” their homes for the show. I’m not totally surprised by this news but I am surprised to find…

RV Hunting {Shoe Style Saturday}
Hi, everyone! I hope you’ve had a pleasant week. Things have been going really well over here. So many exciting things are happening: I was selected to be one of 50 female bloggers to join Team #Cinchspiration in a weight loss blogging program (you can read about that here). I’m going to need lots of cheerleaders, so please join me on Facebook, Pinterest and/or Twitter. Today the hubs and I went RV hunting. This has been a long time dream of his. I, on the other hand, have been horrified at the idea of peeing in the back of a bus. That is until he took me to the RV park today. Whoa… I was…

Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}
1. Did you hear about that mom who was arrested for cheering at her daughter’s high school graduation? Other than clapping and yelling “That’s my baby!” what could she have possibly done to warrant arrest? Was she falling on people? Did she hurt anyone? Most parents cheer for the kids because they know what it took to get them to that point. I cheered for Miss 18 and I cried for her. I will cheer for Mr. and Miss 16 and Miss 15 when their day comes… 2. Have you been watching the news lately? Apparently the folks in Washington are upset about all the intel leaks that are going…

Goldy Bronzey Gladiator Sandals {Shoe Style Saturday}
Those are my goldy bronzey gladiatoresque shoes. I absolutely adore them. I’ve never owned metallic shoes before, I was never quite sure how to get those silvers and golds to fit into my wardrobe. Of course now I understand that you have to treat metallics like a neutral and let them be your statement piece all at the same time. Such a delicate balance we wanna be Shoe~a~nistas walk! Do you like that word? I made it up. This week was spent trying to find our summer groove. My kids are older so I don’t really have to entertain them much but I don’t want them just sitting around the house…

Scavenger Hunt Sunday {Photography}
It feels so good to be participating in Scavenger Hunt Sunday again. I haven’t joined in since April. But this week I had some beautiful shots, thanks to a photo walk with my daughter and an impromptu day out with the hubs. Hope you enjoy looking at my finds for this week. 1. Rainbow I took this picture during my photo walk with Miss 18. The way the sun was bouncing off the steeple of the church had me mesmerized. Later, I saw the lens flare and the slightest hint of a rainbow. I hope it counts. 2. Fluffy Dandelions are fluffy, right? I took this picture of my daughter…

A Girl and Her Guitar
Last week, Miss 15 begged me to take her to the store because she’d been saving her babysitting money to buy something very special… An acoustic guitar, which she’s teaching herself to play. Do you remember what you spent your first earnings on?

1957 Chevy Bel Air {Photography}
Yesterday, I got to spend some one~on~one time with the boy. It’s rare that he and I spend time hanging out with each other. I’m so not into video games and he could care less about crocheting. But one thing we do have in common is a love of old cars. Who knew? When we spotted this 1957 Chevy Bel Air in the parking lot, we just had to stop. We walked around the car, talked about how we’d fix it up. Where we’d like to take it on a drive. Just a bunch of random musings… I had no idea that the boy was that into cars. And I’m…

Shoe Style Saturday
I didn’t really do much this week, between the chilly weather and being a bit lethargic, I just haven’t gotten out much. Last night, we went to church {the second night of our men’s conference} and I wore the shoes above. I’ve had them for at least 3 or 4 years, an impulse buy while visiting my sister in Tennessee. I think I’ve worn them 2 or 3 times. I’m never really sure what to wear them with, do you have any ideas? Where did your shoes take you this week? To participate in Shoe Style Saturday, all you have to do is take a picture of your shoes post…

Shoe Style Saturday
I thought boot wearing weather had come to an end. Does boot wearing weather every really come to an end though? It’s bordered on freezing here. OK, slight exaggeration but after the near 80s we were having, the 50s and 60s feels kinda frigid. Has the weather done a sudden flip where you are too? Even with the cool weather, I did get out and do a bit of wandering around the area with my camera in tow. The Mississippi Riverfront is one of my fave places to go when I wanna just people watch or take some pictures of different architectural settings. Have I told you how much I…

Bad Hair Day + Cute Shoes = Balance?
Today was one of them days. I had an appointment with the endocrinologist ~ stupid nonexistent thyroid is making me crazy again. After talking to the doctor, we’ve decided the best course of action is to lower my meds and try to get my thyroid levels under control. But you know what was bothering me more than my thyroid {or lack there of} this morning? My hair. Yes, y’all, I was having the mother of bad hair days today. I couldn’t even focus on the doctor’s questions because I was thinking about the crazy mop that was sitting on my head. I tried a new hair product and was less…
