My Weekend {Instagram Edition}
How was your Easter weekend? Ours was pretty nice. Church was incredible ~ how could it not be, we’re serving a risen savior!? The kids and I enjoyed a wonderful French Toast breakfast prepared for us by the hubs. Seriously, moving to Missouri has brought out some hidden culinary skills in that man. I would have taken a picture of our breakfast but, um, the food looked too good to stop everyone from digging in, so you have a picture of our coffee cups. I took a couple of hours out of my day to go to the Conservation Center and reflect on life and all of the blessings that…

If This Is Winter, I’ll Take It
It has been crazy beautiful here in Missouri. Really, if this is what winter is like down in the south, I’ll take it. What’s like in your neck of the woods?

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This week’s Scavenger Hunt Photos were literally taken at the last minute. Well, all of them except for the first one. I don’t know why I was slacking but I was but, lemme tell ya, when you feel the pressure it makes it kinda fun and you get all kinds of creative… 1. Routine Not really a part of my routine but every now and then I have to bust out the ol’ iron and ironing board to keep the hubs happy and neat. 2. Music My teens seem to spend an awful lot of time with those thingies in the ears. I suspect they listen to their music to…

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Today was crazy! I was getting out of the car at church and I heard a riiiip. Yep, my whole backside was exposed because I ripped my skirt. I mumbled a quick explanation to the minister and went back home. Fortunately, I was in the parking lot when it happened, but still… It was hard to make graceful exit without mooning everyone. 1. Crossed The back of a wrought iron chair on the front porch where the hubs and I like to sit and enjoy evening coffees. 2. A Glimpse Miss 15, the only family member who will let me photograph her. Like her mother, she enjoys the attention. 3.…

My Monday: Vlog Style
Mr. 16 asked me to go with him to pick out a Valentine’s Day gift for his friend girl. I was thrilled and, of course, a little bit emotional. My baby boy is growing up… He chose a beautiful earring and pendant set. Seriously, doesn’t my son have good taste? On Saturday morning, the hubs and I attended a marriage empowerment session at our church, The Rock International Ministries, that was taught by Eddie and Cathy Williams of TCT Television. They talked about building trust, establishing a reciprocal relationship and communicating effectively with each other by using the Bible as our handbook for marriage. They concluded the session by giving us a…

Tag! I’m It
Remember when you were a kid and you used to play “Tag”? So. Much. Fun. Well, now I’m playing the grown~up bloggy version of “Tag”. Someone tags you and then you have to answer a series of questions and then tag other folks. Unlike in elementary school, I’ve been tagged by two people: Lisa from It Keeps Getting Better {if you haven’t visited her blog, you really ought to, she has the most adorable children ever} and Stacy from A Life Well Lived {if you need inspiration, I recommend adding her to your reader}. Because I was tagged by two people, I’m combining the rules and the questions. I’m a rule…

Posts {The Best of 2011}
Last year, I wrote a post called 2010: The Best of Living Outside the Stacks, where I went back over the year and picked out my favorite posts from the year and I thought I’d do it again this year. It’s a fun way to look back and see how much life has changed over the past year. And, boy, let me tell ya, we’ve had some changes this year: my family moved half way across country, I took up photography and, most importantly, we found a church home. It was nice to be able to go back and relive the memories, the excitement and the ohmygosh what did we…

ABCs of Me
Google Friend Connect is disappearing soon, but I’d love for us to stay together. You can read my blog in your favorite reader through my RSS feed, join the conversation on Facebook or chat with me on Twitter. Make sure you give a shout out and let me know you’re there! Y’all know I love myself some memes. I think they’re fun and it gives me (and you) a chance to discover new blogs, find out interesting tidbits about other parts of the country (world) and, well, have some fun. So I said all of that to say, I’ve discovered a new meme (and a new blog) that I want…

Sister Sister at Creative Ewe Pottery
Today I did something so unlike me, something so far from who I am that I’m surprised that I did it. Â I attended a social outing with, wait for it, people! Â I know, right? Â And I had fun! One of the things that I wanted to do when I moved here was step out of my comfort zone and do things I never would have done on my own. Â And, so far, I have to say, I’m meeting (exceeding?) my goals. Â I spent yesterday at the church helping out with the fish dinner and, like I said, today I painted pottery. First let me explain what Sister Sister is… Â It’s…
