Goodbye, Squeekerz
My family and I used to joke about making a plan for Squeekerz’s “after Tucker care” because we thought he’d outlive us all out of pure spite. We were wrong. On Saturday, 13 July 2019, we said goodbye to our hairy toddler. Squeekerz was a lot of personality in a small package. And I’m so happy that we had 17 years with him. When Squeekerz first joined our family, he was so tiny. In fact, he was the runt of the litter and the man who sold him to us warned me that he didn’t think Squeekerz would survive. But we decided to take him home anyway. We didn’t have…

Squeekerz Came Home with a New Family
If you’ve been following me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter then you know that our dog, Squeekerz, ran away last Friday morning, leaving the family heartbroken. Well, he returned late Saturday afternoon after a week long adventure and he didn’t come back alone… Late Saturday afternoon, The Boy and I were sitting downstairs talking when I happened to look out the window and see a big fluffy black something in the backyard. A few feet behind the black something I saw a little tan something dart across the yard. I called the boy to the window and said “What’s that?”, he replied “Oh, it’s a black cat.” I squinted and said, “No,…

Red Cowboy Boots {Shoe Style Saturday}
So much has happened in the two weeks that I’ve been offline… First, let’s talk about those boots, shall we? Aren’t they fantabulous? Ever since we moved to the South I’ve been dying to get a pair of cowboy boots. Full southern experience, y’all…. Anyway, I picked these beauties up at a cute little consignment shop called The Clothes Line for all of $8.75! Score! The most exciting thing is that we’ve moved into a new house. Honest to goodness, this is our dream home. From the colors to the carpet to the front porch, everything about this place feels like it was custom made for us. I cannot wait…

Squeekerz {Missing Dog Alert}
This has been a very difficult week for my family and me. Last Friday morning, our beloved dog of 10 years, Squeekerz, decided to go for a walk without his leash or his humans. Those of you who are long time readers know that Squeekerz has become quite a fixture in my photography. He’s a first class photo bomber! And often likes to pose for pictures (this after spending many months getting over his fear of the camera sounds). I’ve never been a big proponent of pet chipping, honestly, the thought of putting something inside my dog sort made me feel all Big Brotherish… But after this past week, I…

Squeekerz {This or That Thursday}
This week I’ve been working on shooting in Manual. I’m not sure if these pictures are technically “all that” but I do like them because, well, they’re fun. Our dog, Squeekerz, spent many years in the Witness Protection Program and never allowed me to take his picture, now he’s all stopping and posing for me. Translation: the dog used to be afraid of the shutter sound and now that he’s used to it, he gets the canine equivalent of giddy whenever he sees the camera. Trust me, that’s his happy face. We also suspect that Squeekerz spent some time in the military because he does a lot of low crawling.…

Wordless Wednesday: Squeekerz
Our family dog, Squeekerz, just waking up from one of his many naps What do you think dogs do all day that they sleep so much?
