Hey, y’all, hey! How was your week? Mine was nice — I celebrated my 49th birthday and The Hubs and I celebrated our 27th anniversary. The Hubs had flowers delivered to my job and my coworkers surprised me with a birthday cake. I really felt the appreciation and the love.

ABOUT WHERE BLOGGERS LIVE

Welcome to the monthly edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and see inside people’s homes? Over the next few months, we’ll share about our work spaces, home towns, and more!

I should note – because this is super important – the creative brain behind this project is Bettye at Fashion Schlub! Love her! Side note, Bettye made us aware that we’ve had this series going for three years. THREE YEARS!!! I am floored. I’m so enjoying this series and I hope you are as well.

THE THEME: My Dream House

Truth be to told, I’m living in my dream house. I like our neighborhood — it’s quiet and safe, the neighbors are friendly, and it’s about a 10-minute drive from my job. Furthermore, it’s the perfect retirement home. Everything is on one floor. Or rather, the main living space is on one floor, with wide doorways. If you’d like to see a few pictures of my favorite rooms, check here, here, and here.

However, there are a few things I’d like to do to make our home a little more comfortable. Money no object, I’d love to have Erin from Home Town come and redecorate our home. Actually, I’d like for her and Ben to renovate a couple of rooms in our house {main bedroom and bathroom, my home office, and the pantry}. Their designs are so comfortable, homey, and eclectic. Actually, I think Erin has called it “grandma chic” but I don’t think her designs are grandma-ish at all.

MAIN BEDROOM

I love our bedroom – there’s velvet and pattern and color and coziness, but I hate the carpet. I really want hardwood floors with layered area rugs. And I’d like the windows enlarged to let in more light. Check out these spaces on my Pinterest board. Can’t you just feel the warmth and coziness?

MAIN BATHROOM

Our bathroom is incredibly small. I’d love to have it enlarged, with a shower instead of a bathtub. I’d also like more natural light, something kind of like these.

MY HOME OFFICE

Someone {I’m not mentioning any names, but I’m married to him} stole my desk for his home office, so I had to get a new one. I ain’t mad though because I love my new desk. It’s a vintage-y turquoise color with a sweet little storage basket for all the junk I want to keep tucked away. Still, I think there’s a better way to set up my office {a space I share with Bleu and Lola}. You can see some ideas I have for my office by clicking here. I can do some of it myself, but I’d really rather have a professional designer take over and do it up right, ya know?

THE PANTRY

I’m obsessed with organization. Have you seen Khloe Kardashian’s pantry? It looks like a freaking grocery store and *wow* that pretty pantry makes my heart sing. Right now, our pantry is a shared space with our laundry room, but I’d love, love, love for it to be a separate room with shelving and vintage doors. Every now and then The Hubs and I talk about renovating the space, so I put together a Pinterest board.
