As usual, I’m late. I don’t really have a valid excuse. Especially since I look forward to these monthly blogging parties. It’s so fun learning more about my blogging buddies beyond our outfits. Although I do love a good outfit post, because a girl can always use the inspiration. Anyway back to the matter at hand…

ABOUT 10 ON THE 10TH

10 on the 10th is hosted by Leslie at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After and Marsha at Marsha in the Middle. In the tradition of old school blogging, they’ll share a list of ten questions or prompts to help us get to know each other better. The linkup goes live on the tenth of the month.

THE PROMPT: Questions about Spring

  1. List your favorite thing about Spring. Which season do you like best?
My favorite thing about Spring is the week when the evenings are warm, the air just a little bit muggy, and the heady scent of Magnolia blossoms hits me soon after I step out my front door. And, yeah, I do mean week, because the rest of the time it’s either hot and rainy or cold and windy. That being said, my favorite season is sweater weather. I’m the stereotypical librarian — I have a trunk full of cardigans and there are few things I enjoy more than pulling out a cardi and building an outfit around it.
  2. What puts spring your step? What does your favorite pair of shoes look like? When do you wear them?
I’m a shoe girl. My favorite shoes are clogs and I wear them all. the. time. Clogs are quite possibly the most versatile pair of shoes you can own. They can be worn with jeans, dresses, shorts, and everything in between. They can also be dressed up or dressed down. If you’re curious about how I’ve worn them, check here.
  3. Around St. Patrick’s Day we see invitations to ‘kiss me, I’m Irish’ on graphic tees and images everywhere; are you Irish? If not, what would your graphic tee read?
I’m not Irish. My tee shirt would say ‘Don’t touch me.’ And I would mean it. I’m not a hugger. At all. And that whole pinching someone because they aren’t wearing green? Yeah, that’s assault.
  4. What flowers would make up your perfect spring bouquet? What is your favorite floral fragrance?
My favorite flowers are Magnolias. Not to wear though. There’s just something about walking outside and inhaling the scent that makes me feel all warm and cozy. But if you’re talking about floral fragrances for wearing, I don’t like anything sweet or too flowery. My favorite scents to wear are anything woodsy and exotic. Because I work in a library around people with unknown allergies, I don’t wear perfume on a daily basis. But when I shower, I use mango and lime scented body wash with a vanilla and coconut scented body oil. It’s an interesting combination, but I like it.
  5. Spring cleaning? A necessary evil or overrated? What’s your favorite cleaning tip? Cleaning product?
I don’t do a big Spring or Fall cleaning. The Hubs and I will sometimes get a wild hair and just start cleaning. I’d say one of my favorite tips is to line your refrigerator shelves with drawer liners — it makes your shelves pretty and easy to clean. You can see what I mean by clicking here.
  6. Slinkies are coiled spring toys, did you ever have a Slinky? Silly Putty? What was your favorite toy as a kid?
I honestly can’t remember if I had a Slinky or not. But I do remember using Silly Putty to copy cartoons off the newspapers. It was so magical. LOL That being said, my hands down favorite toy was and always will be Kareena. I wrote all about her here. That doll has been all over the world with me: the U.S., Italy, and Korea. My kids say she freaks them out and they plan to toss her in the casket with me.
  7. When we spring forward on 13 March, what do you hope to do in that extra day light?
Being that I’m writing this post on the morning of 13 March, I can honestly say that I slept. I slept late. Very late. So late that Bleu and Lola had to wake me up. But it felt so good.
  8. The following colors will be trending for Spring: soft lilac, canary yellow, hot pink, salted caramel, scarlet, and sky blue. Will you be styling any of these? Is there a color you will avoid?
I’m not normally a bright color wearer {well, not since high school anyway}, but I’ve been digging bright colors lately {note the picture above}. In fact, I think I’m wearing all of those colors in that one dress. I don’t think there are any colors that I plan to avoid. After a year of lockdown, I plan to wear all the colors and live life out loud.
  9. What will you be reading this Spring? Do you have a favorite devotional or quiet time routine?
Most of my time is gonna be spent working on and reading material for the LCTCS Leadership Academy (LLA). The chancellor at my college nominated me for LLA, which is a year-long leadership program that trains people in our college system for leadership positions within the system.
  10. Share an inspirational thought or Spring quote. Why does this speak to you?
    I’ve got nothing.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

How would you answer these questions?
