10 on the 10th: March 2024
I’ve always thought that I didn’t like green. Apparently, I’m quite wrong. Who knew? When I look around my house, I don’t see a lot of green, but when I started scouring my blog, green popped up everywhere. Then I looked at my wrists and noticed the green Apple Watch band {note the olive green embroidered top} and the green bead bracelets {gifts from The Hubs}. ABOUT 10 ON THE 10TH 10 on the 10th is hosted by Marsha at Marsha in the Middle. Can you believe we’re in a new year? It really does feel like it all passed so quickly, right? I won’t make any promises for this year. 10 on the 10th: January 2024
Hey, y’all, hey! How’s your 2024 going so far? To watch the news, you’d think 2023 had a meeting and was like “Yo, it’s time to square up” because 2024 came in kicking butt and taking names. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come because *whew* I’m already over it. On a personal level, things are exhale a giant of sigh of relief I came in to 2024 waiting to have a breast ultrasound because my mammogram showed “areas of concern.” Talk about stressed. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing but a bunch of cysts, but the waiting… I’m glad it’s over. Other than that, things…

Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. I’m the laziest of Christmas decorators. When the kids were little, I couldn’t wait to put up the decorations. Of course, this is no surprise, as kids tend to make things magical. Once they moved out of the house, I still decorated but it was all last minute. This year was no exception. I literally put up the…

How’re things in your neck of the woods? We’re doing well here. The heat has subsided to a small degree, so we’re all a bit more comfortable. We’re at about 90something degrees, which is a far cry from the triple digits we’ve been dealing with over the summer. I also found the most stunning black…

Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. How fun is my suitcase? You can see a little bit of it in the trunk of my car in the picture. It’s a Betsy Johnson piece that I found years ago at Marshall’s. They had a smaller under seat suitcase that I routinely kick myself for not buying. I didn’t think I’d need it. I was looks…

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio version of this book for review. If you’ve read my review of Seven Days in June, you know how deeply I believe in the power of first love, that’s part of what drew me to this story. The other was that it was a “Listen Now” option on NetGalley, which meant…

As much as I try to deny it, I’m a romantic at heart. Not the ripped bodice, passionate type of romantic, but the I get caught up in novels, I imagine how things could’ve been or should’ve been type of person. I dream about alternate endings, like, what if I had chosen to accept the full scholarship to…

Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. When The Hubs and I first got married, I couldn’t cook at all. In fact, I’d lived in my apartment for about 6 months and hadn’t even turned on the stove. It was just my infant daughter and me, so I didn’t feel the need to cook. I used to buy crawfish, potatoes, and boiled corn from the…
