We’re almost finished with our first full week of classes and when I tell y’all that I’ve been busy, I’ve been busy. Mostly dealing with book vouchers and printer/copier issues, and a lot of financial aid questions {that one is new}. Although, we’re not the bookstore, the students automatically come to me with their book questions. It makes…

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio version of this book for review. If you’ve read my review of Seven Days in June, you know how deeply I believe in the power of first love, that’s part of what drew me to this story. The other was that it was a “Listen Now” option on NetGalley, which meant…

As much as I try to deny it, I’m a romantic at heart. Not the ripped bodice, passionate type of romantic, but the I get caught up in novels, I imagine how things could’ve been or should’ve been type of person. I dream about alternate endings, like, what if I had chosen to accept the full scholarship to…

I picked this book up on a whim, after reading about it in a Reese’s Book Club newsletter. I was about to go on a two-hour road trip and wasn’t really in the mood to listen to music or a podcast. I did a cursory read of the description and thought why not? I mean, Reese is recommending…

Hey, y’all, hey, it has been forever since I’ve participated in a Style Imitating Art linkup. Actually, it’s been a long time since I’ve done anything style related on the blog. Ever since my iPad keyboard broke, I’ve been pretty lazy about blogging. I don’t mind editing the pictures and uploading them to the blog on my desktop,…

When The Hubs and I first got married, I couldn’t cook at all. In fact, I’d lived in my apartment for about 6 months and hadn’t even turned on the stove. It was just my infant daughter and me, so I didn’t feel the need to cook. I used to buy crawfish, potatoes, and boiled corn from the…

Mine has been pretty good. I spent some time with my daughter and her girlfriend a little over a week ago and, y’all, when I say hanging out with your adult children is momming on a whole different level, it really is. I had such a good time. If you’d like to…

Weekend Getaway: Georgia
Y’all, I just spent the weekend with my daughter and her girlfriend in Georgia. When I tell you having adult children is a whole different level of momming, I’m not kidding. I love my kids, I love them dearly, but the one thing I’m most proud of is how much I genuinely like them. And, gosh, it makes my momma heart happy that they want to hang out with me. Savannah, Georgia While my daughter drove and Katie kept her company, I napped in the back. Not gonna lie, being able to relax on the road was super nice. I had to get a snap of this poster of The…

How’s your weekend going so far? Mine is OK. Yesterday was so cold and rainy after several days of darn near 90º weather and today? Well, it’s absolutely perfect, which is big coming from me. It’s 67º, my optimum temp is 72º. It’s a little cloudy but warm. I can deal. I may even grab…

My sister and I turned fifty yesterday. FIFTY. Where did the time go? In some ways, I still feel like that young mom looking around for the adult in the room and realizing she is me. Do you remember that feeling? It’s not that I thought I’d wake up on the day of my fiftieth and magically have…
