2014 Daily Selfie: Week 4 {In the Dark Room}
Happy Monday! How’re you guys doing? I’m doing well. I spent the weekend doing what I usually do: vegging in front of the TV. Did you happen to catch Lizzie Borden Took an Ax? It was on Lifetime and starred Christina Ricci, who took crazy to a whole nother level. And can I give a round of applause for the soundtrack? Totally kick butt. And now for a few pics from last week: I keep holding out hope that at some point I’ll be able to take my What I Wore Wednesday pictures outside again. No such luck. It’s still too cold… Martin Luther King, jr.’s birthday. Thank you to all of the men and…

Fist Bump Friday: I’m Wearing Jeans {In the Cafe}
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that I like to do a little something called “Fist Bump Friday”, where I encourage my friends to share something that made them happy during the week. Sometimes we get so bogged down with life and the crazy that comes with it that we forget to acknowledge the good things. So I thought it’d be fun if we all shared and celebrated together. So please, share your good news in the comments below. Remember, it doesn’t have to be big or earth shattering. If it’s important to you, it’s important to me. This week, I’m happy that I’ve lost 4…

Modern Design Tungsten Ring Review {#Sponsored}
About three weeks ago, I bought the hubs a Tungsten bracelet. It was something that I didn’t think he’d pick for himself but something that I thought he’d like because, well, it’s different from anything else he owns. When I presented him with the bracelet, he was genuinely surprised and, more importantly, totally “in like” with it. So we started searching for a Tungsten ring… A few days later, I was contacted by Modern Design, Inc. with the opportunity to review a Tungsten ring. Seriously, is that not the best timing ever? I immediately called up the hubs and asked if he was game. Of course, he said “yes”.

2014 Daily Selfie: Week 3 {In the Dark Room}
Hi, y’all. I hope you had a great weekend. I did. I spent time with my family just relaxing… Goodness knows I needed it after last week. It was emotionally draining… The hubs and I spent Saturday our usual way: breakfast at a locally owned restaurant and then running errands. It’s the old married couple’s version of a date. After church, I spent the rest of the day vegging on the sofa and playing with my iPad. “Fashion over function.” Those shoes are not practical library wear but they’re cute. A lady delivered a thank you card to my office because I let her husband use my truck to jump…

The Bible in 365 Days: Day 13 {In the Church}
Scripture Genesis 14:15~16 And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus. Then he brought back all the possessions, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his possessions, and the women and the people. Observation Four things stick out to me from these two verses: divided ~ Abram was a soldier and a protector of his family; he found out Lot and his wife had been taken and he rounded up everyone and formed an army defeated ~ he beat them pursued ~ not only did he defeat them but he chased them brought…

2014 Daily Selfie: Week 2 {In the Dark Room}
Hi there! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice. I spent most of Saturday vegging on the sofa, got sucked in to watching the Hallmark Channel. It was a Janet Oke weekend. I’ve never read her books but, man, was I swept away by the romance, positive messages of putting God first, and loving your family. hand me the tissues Sunday was pretty nice as well. The family and I went to church then I came home and made a big ol’ pot of white bean and beef soup. So delicious! The rest of the day was spent doing, what else, but laundry. What about you? Did you do…

The Bible in 365 Days: Day 12 {In the Church}
Scripture Genesis 13:16 I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. Observation God made a promise to Abram that required faith on his part; Abram and Sarai were both old and she was barren. Application Believing in God is not a passive activity, it requires action. That action is faith. Prayer Dear Lord, please forgive me for any sins that I knowingly and unknowingly committed today. Help me, Lord, to walk in faith, trusting and believing in your promises. In your name, I pray, Amen.

The Bible in 365 Days: Days 10~11 {In the Church}
Scripture Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. Observation God called Abram out from the comfort and security of his parents’ home in order to bless him. Application Leaving his father’s home and everything that was familiar to him, had to have been a big step of faith for Abram. As long as he was surrounded by his family and in familiar territory, there was no need for him to be totally dependent on God. But his blessing wasn’t in his homeland, his blessing was in unfamiliar territory. I think…

The Bible in 365 Days: Day 9 {In the Church}
Scripture Genesis 9:16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth. Observation God made a covenant between Himself and Noah and all of Noah’s descendants that He would never destroy the earth and its inhabitants with flood waters again. The rainbow was to serve as a reminder to God of His promise. Application God knew that men would continue to do evil, because they’re sinful by nature. So He promised that He’d never wipe out all of humanity again. However, He didn’t just leave us no way out;…
