Where Bloggers Live: Making My Ramen Noodles a Little More Edible
As the blogger and photographer behind Living Outside the Stacks, I independently select and write about stuff I love and things I think you’ll enjoy too. Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. Hey, y’all, hey! How are y’all doing? I’m still flying high — my son and daughter surprised me with a weekend visit. We were trying to figure out how long it has been since we’ve all been under one roof {it has been over 5 years}. My oldest and youngest kids couldn’t make it, but it will happen.…

Where Bloggers Live: A Day in the Life {Workday}
As the blogger and photographer behind Living Outside the Stacks, I independently select and write about stuff I love and things I think you’ll enjoy too. Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. Hey, y’all, hey. How are things? This month has been crazy busy at work. It’s Manufacturing Month – a big month for the technical and community colleges in our system. We use this time {Manufacturing Month, Manufacturing Week, and Manufacturing Day} to host open houses for potential students, business partners, and community members so they can learn about…

Where Bloggers Live: My Blogging Inspiration
Funny story: my blogging buddies had a whole email chain about how we’re last minute bloggers but we were going to make deadline because *dang it* that’s what we do annnnnnd I didn’t. Not because I’m a slacker but because I’m a slacker. Haha I sat down at this computer six different times last night and every single time, I got up and got distracted by random shiny object until this morning when I audibly groaned and said “I’ve done it again. I’ve missed the deadline.” Y’all, I’m not like this IRL. I’m a stickler for deadlines. I’m the person who shows up to meetings 15 minutes early and gets…

Where Bloggers Live: Childhood Memories
This is one of the few pictures of my sisters and me that exist of our time in Italy. I used to wear the heck out of those suspenders, I even had a matching baseball cap that I wore when I was feeling particularly snazzy. And that watch? It had the words to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” written across the face. I used to save up my money {I worked at the base post office} so that I could buy a new watch every month – I was a big fan of the Pop Swatch. I still have a thing for watches, but I mostly wear my Apple watch…

Where Bloggers Live: Travel
Hey, how are ya? Things are going well I’m my side. I haven’t been up to much… I added some new plant babies to the family {you can see them here, here, and here}. I keep trying, y’all. I’m not good with plants but I love them so much. They remind me of my dad — he kept our house full of plants when we were kids — and I’ve been missing him so much lately. This time around, I’m taking the time to learn about my plants and figure out what they need. I’m following several plant parents on Instagram as well {that’s where I got the idea to…

Where Bloggers Live: Top 5 Movies
The Hubs and I had guests this weekend. Friends of ours from Pennsylvania drove down to pick up our RV and take it back to Pennsylvania with them. They’re planning to use it as a guest house on their land. I mean, they also plan to go RVing, but they want it for when friends and family come to visit. Don’t you just love that idea? They live on a mountain top in Pennsylvania with a lot of acreage, so it just fits their needs. I like the idea but if I were going to do something like that, I’d want a vintage Airstream. They’re small and sleek and have…

Some of the Best Advice I’ve Received: DO THE THING
Trigger warning: a brief mention of emotional and sexual abuse. Growing up, I was an avid reader. My life was a grab bag of emotional and sexual abuse. Books were my escape. The characters were my friends. My family. Even to this day, there are some characters who are still with me. Some authors that I still turn to when I need to center. It was during a particularly dark time that I remember reading: “Do one thing in your life that will give you a good story when you’re old.” Funny thing is, I don’t remember where I read it or what character said it. I just know that…

10 on the 10th | April
As usual, I’m late. I don’t really have a valid excuse. Especially since I look forward to these monthly blogging parties. It’s so fun learning more about my blogging buddies beyond our outfits. Although I do love a good outfit post, because a girl can always use the inspiration. Anyway back to the matter at hand… ABOUT 10 ON THE 10TH 10 on the 10th is hosted by Leslie at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After and Marsha at Marsha in the Middle.
