Where Bloggers Live: My Home Office
Hi, and welcome to this month’s edition of Where Bloggers Live. This month, we’re sharing our home offices and giving a few tips on how we’re managing life under quarantine. The college that I work for is comprised of 8 campuses that are spread fairly far apart, so most of our resources are available electronically. Most of my day is comprised of ensuring that those resources are available and assisting our faculty and IT Department with whatever they may need. I also assist with the college’s social media, so I make sure that accurate information is shared in a timely manner {really, just a creative extension of my library work}.…

Where Bloggers Live: Louisiana
The Hubs and I moved to Louisiana almost two years ago. Gosh, I cannot believe it has been that long… We requested the transfer with his job because we wanted to be closer to our grandkids and, with retirement looming on the horizon, we wanted to be some place warm. Truth be told, though, I really never thought this would be our forever home. When we separated from the Army and moved to Pennsylvania, I thought that was it. That we’d never make it back down here again. Funny how we ended up coming nearly full circle. I think I’ve mentioned before that I grew up in Italy, so I didn’t know…

Where Bloggers Love: Valentine’s Day Edition
Welcome to the Valentine’s Day edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s a given that I love The Hubs, our kids, and grandkids. If you’re not sure about my affections for The Hubs, you can read my 10 on the 10th post. In it, I share ten reasons why I love The Hubs. And, now that our kids are adults, I don’t really talk about them on my blog too often. Our grandchildren are young, but I never write about them or share photos of them without their mother’s permission. It’s a matter of respect for them and their privacy. MEET BLEU At the urging of The Hubs, Bleu joined our…

Where Bloggers Live: My Community
The hand of a sweet woman who was showing me flowers that had fallen to the ground… Hi, welcome to my neighborhood… I’m so excited to show you around Alexandria, Louisiana. Specifically, this is a tour of the neighborhood where I work. We relocated to downtown Alexandria about 6 weeks ago and it has been pretty great. There were the usual concerns about moving to a new space: will there be enough parking? is the area safe? how will the influx of students impact local businesses? So far, we haven’t had any real problems, just a few hiccups that come with moving. The business community has been awesome. The…

Where Bloggers Live: My Home
Welcome to our home. Moving to Louisiana has been a bit of a homecoming for us. The Hubs and I met when we were stationed at Fort Polk, about 45 minutes away from where we live. You can read about our first date here. When we found out we were moving here, The Hubs and I wrote out a list of things we wanted in a home. We knew we wanted this to be our retirement home, so we wanted: one floor, open concept, little to no carpet, space for a coffee bar {I rejected a lot of homes because this was lacking}, enough room to park an RV and…
