Where Bloggers Live: How I Work
First of all, I need to apologize to my cohosts. This post was due on Friday. It is now Saturday night Sunday afternoon. I don’t have an excuse other than lack of motivation. Which I guess is kind of appropriate for this post… If you read this blog on a regular basis, then you know that I’ve already shared a bit about my work space. If you missed it, you can read it here. Today we’re supposed to write about how we work. I rarely write opinion posts anymore, much of my content is centered around clothes or themes like this one. When writing my style posts, I think about the…

Where Bloggers Live: My Home Office
Hi, and welcome to this month’s edition of Where Bloggers Live. This month, we’re sharing our home offices and giving a few tips on how we’re managing life under quarantine. The college that I work for is comprised of 8 campuses that are spread fairly far apart, so most of our resources are available electronically. Most of my day is comprised of ensuring that those resources are available and assisting our faculty and IT Department with whatever they may need. I also assist with the college’s social media, so I make sure that accurate information is shared in a timely manner {really, just a creative extension of my library work}.…

Close the Libraries
I’ve long been an advocate of access, but I’ve also advocated for protecting library faculty and staff. I’ve worked in libraries where the entire campus shut down BUT the library was required to stay open. One university president even “offered” to have security pick up library staff from their homes during snow storms and “allow” them to sleep/shower in the dorms if necessary. This does not tell library staff that they’re valuable. It tells them that they’re expendable. This situation is so very different from snow storms. This is about protecting the health of entire communities. Librarians generally work in spaces where social distancing isn’t practical. And, while I empathize…

Where Bloggers Live: Louisiana
The Hubs and I moved to Louisiana almost two years ago. Gosh, I cannot believe it has been that long… We requested the transfer with his job because we wanted to be closer to our grandkids and, with retirement looming on the horizon, we wanted to be some place warm. Truth be told, though, I really never thought this would be our forever home. When we separated from the Army and moved to Pennsylvania, I thought that was it. That we’d never make it back down here again. Funny how we ended up coming nearly full circle. I think I’ve mentioned before that I grew up in Italy, so I didn’t know…

Today is my 47th birthday! I usually share my birth story on the blog, but since I’m doing the 10 on 10 post, I’ll just link to it here. And, in case you’re all, hmmm, I don’t think so, Daenel… Let me tell you, it involves a police car, a clandestine affair, and ABOUT 10 on the 10th 10 on the 10th is hosted by Leslie at Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After. Leslie took over hosting duties for 2020 and, in true Leslie fashion, she decided to tweak things a bit… Every other prompt will be 10 questions about a particular season or theme. Leslie will share…

Where Bloggers Love: Valentine’s Day Edition
Welcome to the Valentine’s Day edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s a given that I love The Hubs, our kids, and grandkids. If you’re not sure about my affections for The Hubs, you can read my 10 on the 10th post. In it, I share ten reasons why I love The Hubs. And, now that our kids are adults, I don’t really talk about them on my blog too often. Our grandchildren are young, but I never write about them or share photos of them without their mother’s permission. It’s a matter of respect for them and their privacy. MEET BLEU At the urging of The Hubs, Bleu joined our…

Friday Favorites 03|52
Happy Friday, y’all! Welcome to Friday Favorites. How was your week? Mine was super busy. This was the first week of classes so everyone was oh-so busy. Next week will be a bit of the same, but a little bit slower. I have a couple of library sessions scheduled, so I’m excited about that. Did you see this week’s Style Imitating Art post? It always amazes me that we can all look at the same thing and see something so different, yet incredibly similar. I know that sounds convoluted, but take a look at the post and you’ll see what I mean. Are you a baker? You need to check…
