    In the Neighborhood: Zoo Boo

We didn’t celebrate Halloween when I was growing up. Religious reasons. When I had my own children, I let them dress up when they were little, although I made it perfectly clear that I was not a fan. After that, we became non-observant. The college where I currently work is heavily involved in community outreach. In fact, our biggest events are Zoo Boo, Alexandria Winter Fete, and Mardi Gras. Zoo Boo is a big Halloween celebration that takes…

MY COFFEE STORY I’m a preacher’s kid. Actually, I’m the child of two preachers. And, y’all, when…

How’re things in your neck of the woods? We’re doing well here. The heat has subsided to a small degree, so we’re all a bit more comfortable. We’re at about 90something degrees, which is a far cry from the triple digits we’ve been dealing with over the summer. I also found the most stunning black…

Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. How fun is my suitcase? You can see a little bit of it in the trunk of my car in the picture. It’s a Betsy Johnson piece that I found years ago at Marshall’s. They had a smaller under seat suitcase that I routinely kick myself for not buying. I didn’t think I’d need it. I was looks…

We’re almost finished with our first full week of classes and when I tell y’all that I’ve been busy, I’ve been busy.
