    Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}

    13 July 2012 / 9 Comments

    1. I love coffee. No, you don’t understand, I. Really. Love. Coffee. But there are times when drinking coffee is inappropriate, the biggest being during a funeral. Apparently, Robinson Funeral Home in South Carolina doesn’t agree. They’re attaching a Starbucks to the funeral home. This is just so weird. 2. So the guy who brings us Dance Moms is in the process of creating a new reality show about wait for it… Extended breastfeeding. Blank stare. Don’t get me wrong, I applaud women who breastfeed. I breastfed all four of my children. But do we really need to see a TV show about women who breastfeed their preschoolers? Didn’t we get enough,…

    Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}

    6 July 2012 / 2 Comments

    1. My tolerance level for pedophiles has reached an all~time low. Not that I had much patience for them before. But, let me tell you, the story of Adam Lee Brown, an HIV~positive sex offender who attempted to assault and then stabbed a 10~year~old boy in a public bathroom, has me feeling all kinds of frustrated and angry. There is just so much wrong with this story: why was he out on parole after being convicted of trying to infect children with HIV nearly 20 years ago by rape? Why wasn’t he rotting under the jail? Seriously, when you hurt a child there should be no second chances. 2. So,…

    Succulent Garden {Decorating}

    3 July 2012 / 3 Comments

    This morning I woke up with one goal in mind ~ buy a succulent garden. I’ve always loved succulents. Actually, I’ve always loved plants but since I became a card carrying member of the Serial Plant Killers Anonymous Club, I’ve banned myself from buying any. But then I started spending an inordinant amount of time perusing succulent gardens on Pinterest and I decided that I had to have one. Not wanted but needed to have one. And my justification was that this little garden would look beautiful on my new coffee table once it finally arrives. Hello, week 3 of no living room furniture. Do you know how hard it…

    Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #3 {#Cinchspiration}

    2 July 2012 / 6 Comments

    Last week was a total fail. I was on vacation with my family and wasn’t as aware of my eating habits as I should have been. I didn’t realize how important it is for me to stick to a regular eating schedule. I had my normal shake in the morning but I usually didn’t get a chance to eat my meal bar until after 2 PM, which meant that I was starving and literally on the prowl for more food. I also wasn’t taking the 3~in~1 Cinch Boost as regularly as I should have. You’re supposed to take them 3 times a day, and I was barely managing 1 a…

    1 July 2012 / 6 Comments

    New month, new beginnings, right? Right. I’m heading into my 3rd week as a Cinchspiration blogger and things are going… LOL I’ll give a full update tomorrow, but suffice it to say, I sure could use some encouragement and cheering up and on. If you’re on Instagram, Pinterest or Twitter, please follow me and the rest of the ladies as we try to shed some weight, get healthy and make ourselves stronger. 1. Sunset From the archives. I don’t know if it’s just me or what but Missouri has some of the most beautiful sunsets. 2. Sweet From the archives. There’s nothing sweeter or tangier than Granny Smith Apples. 3.…

    Things That Leave Me Scratchin’ My Head {Coffee Talk}

    29 June 2012 / 8 Comments

    1. This week the Supreme Court struck down legislation that makes it a crime to lie about winning military honors {also known as the Stolen Valor Act} on the grounds that it violates the First Amendment {free speech}. Ummm, there is so much wrong with that decision… First of all, how about the fact that it disrespects those who died, were injured or maimed for really winning military honors? Second of all, shouldn’t there be some things that are so sacred that they should be protected? And, yes, I realize that this is a slippery slope but I think our soldiers and vets deserve the utmost respect and honor. Boo…

    BOOK DESCRIPTION (FROM THE BACK OF THE BOOK) Nicole~Marie Handy has loved all things French since she was a child. Moving back and forth between the sparkling Paris of today and the jazz~fueled city filled with expatriates in the 1950s, Passing Love is the story of two women dealing with lost love,…
