Effective 1 June, the hubs will be promoted to a Band 2 Manager at Proctor & Gamble! I am so incredibly proud of him. No Cell Phones in Hospitals, Or How the Hubs Almost Killed Me
The hubs will tell anyone who asks that he prayed that God would send someone like me into his life. He will also tell them that he should have been a little more specific in his request, you know other than “Please let her be smart and pretty enough that I don’t have to close one eye to look at her.” He should have added “And let her be a mature responsible woman who doesn’t act crazy in hospitals.” Really, some of our best funniest stories have occurred in hospitals. I think this moment is probably one of the top times when the hubs has seriously rethought his prayer request……

How I Met My Husband
The year was 1994, and I was a sweet, innocent little soldier stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, about to celebrate my 2nd year in the Army. This is my story, I can tell it any way that I like, just rest assured that what I’m telling you is the whole truth. Anyway, I was sitting in the personnel office updating some paperwork, when I see these two guys in a separate part of the office looking at me. I acknowledged them and kept on talking. And by acknowledged, I mean, I glared at them and shifted in my chair because they were staring at me. So I finished my business,…

Congratulations to the Newest P&G Manager {In the Family Room}
Today the hubs is officially a manager at Proctor & Gamble. And the kids and I couldn’t be prouder of him and his accomplishments. When the hubs and I got out of the Army 15 years ago, we didn’t know what we were going to do or how we were going to support ourselves, the only thing we knew was that our family had to stay together. We decided to move to the hub’s hometown in Pennsylvania. He’ll dispute this factoid but our intended term was for a period of no more than 5 years; we’ve been here for 15 years… At the time, I was pregnant with baby number…

Crazy Days of Summer: Light
A picture I snapped of my husband as he was walking through an underpass. Quite possibly one of my favorites… Two years ago, our best friends were married at the beach. The bride was playing in the water at the end of the ceremony when I snapped this picture… This was taken in Texas a few years back. I’m a librarian, so it’s only natural that I would find a bar called “The Library”. This was also taken at the beach. The water and sky were so blue, so perfect. They were almost indistinguishable… Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge is hosted by Alicia of Project Alicia and Kristi oflive and…

Loose Threads and Other Random Thoughts
1. That’s me with Miss 17. I’m so incredibly proud of her. I’m also slowly but surely preparing myself to let go as she prepares to go to college. I will not cry. On Friday, she and I hung out and did a bit of shopping, eating and talking. Seeing my daughter grow from a little bean to a young lady has been the most amazing trip. I’m one of those blessed moms who hasn’t had to go through all the problems that I caused my mother with her teen daughter. That’s not to say we haven’t had our issues (at 12 she started to lose her mind, at 13…

Loose Threads and Other Random Thoughts
Weekends in my house tend to be quiet. The kids usually go and stay with my mother~in~law pretty much from the minute they step off the bus until we force ask them to come home. And the hubs either works, races or hangs out with his friends so I’m pretty much left to my own devices, which I love. This weekend, however, was different. I survived a “man cold”, made a headband and weathered a power outage… Friday I woke up to hear the hubs moaning into the phone “I’m not coming in today” sniff sniff “I don’t feel well” cough cough. Inwardly, I groaned because this didn’t bode well for…
