Where Bloggers Live: My Favorite Piece of Furniture
Hey, y’all, hey! How’s it going? Things are going well over here. The City is here, working on the sidewalk outside our house. There’s a giant tree that caused the sidewalk to buckle and it’d become a tripping hazard. So we’re not gonna be able to use our driveway for about a week. Hopefully, it won’t rain. Where Bloggers Live: Dream Home
Hey, y’all, hey! How was your week? Mine was nice — I celebrated my 49th birthday and The Hubs and I celebrated our 27th anniversary. Where Bloggers Live: What I Drive
Happy New Year and welcome to Where Bloggers Live ! I hope you had a pleasant entry into 2022 and that things are looking much brighter for you and your family. We had a quiet holiday. Much like last year. I spent the day in my pajamas, watching The Twilight Zone marathon. This is something I’ve done just about every year for the last decade or so. I think I’ve seen every episode, still I find something new. Way back in the day, when I used to teach American history, I used to share snippets of the show for discussions about the 1950s and 60s. It made for some fun…

Where Bloggers Live: Put Your Records On
If you read my Ageless Style post last week, then you already know two things about my musical taste: We were not allowed to listen to secular music My first Walkman was a game changer My mom and stepfather are both preachers, so we grew up in a conservative household where we were not allowed to dance, listen to secular music, play cards, blah blah blah… So I used to listen to Contemporary Gospel artists like The Clark Sisters and the Winans. Their gospel music was set to a funky beat that my parents were able to {barely} tolerate. But I loved them. Two of my favorite and most often…

Where Bloggers Live: Where I’ve Lived
I always tell people that growing up some place and living some place are two very different things. My sisters and I grew up in Italy. Our time was managed by our parents, so traveling and exploring were left to them and school field trips. Once we hit our teen years, we’d been in Italy for so long that we took it and its surrounds for granted. We never thought we’d leave. We had the same feeling about Italy as some folks have about their hometowns. We don’t appreciate the things that tourists travel to see. Where Bloggers Live: My Favorite Books
Hey, y’all, hey! I hope you had a relaxing holiday weekend. We did. The Hubs and I went to Mississippi to visit my family. I didn’t take many pictures, but you can see the few that I did take on Instagram. Mostly, this trip was about making sure my parents are doing OK. And they are… I also got to see my sister and her family, which is always nice. We took her youngest son and walked around Lowe’s to look at plants and pick out tile for her new house. You guys, even that little bit of normalcy was enough to make my heart happy. ABOUT WHERE BLOGGERS LIVE…

Where Bloggers Live: How I Organize
Hi. It’s so appropriate that I’m writing a post about organization on the morning that it’s due even though I’ve had moooooonths of notice. sigh I just can’t seem to get my blogging life together. Especially now. We’re on our summer schedule at work {4 ten-hour days}, so by the time I get home the last thing I feel like doing is sitting down at my computer. Truth be told, I barely have the energy to take Bleu out for a walk. My family says they take her out just before I get home, but she still insists upon going outside as soon as I walk through the door. She’s…

Where Bloggers Live: Can’t Let Go
Hi. I hope you all are doing well. Things have been a little hectic over here. We went straight from one accreditation visit at my college to a new accreditation application to graduation prep, with graduation on Saturday. Y’all, I’m physically and emotionally exhausted. Fortunately, I did get a chance to relax and spend Mother’s Day weekend with my daughter and her boyfriend. They treated me like a queen. And the grandpups were as adorable and attention-hogging as ever. I’ll write a post about my visit this weekend after I decompress from graduation… ABOUT WHERE BLOGGERS LIVE Welcome to the monthly edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s kind of like…
