Getting Fit: My Peloton Arrives Tomorrow
My Peloton is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been counting down since I placed my order. And the folks at Peloton have made it so easy. Every couple of days, they send an email with an update about my bike along with other important information like: what workouts to try prior to the arrival of the bike deciding how and where to place the bike what to expect when the bike is delivered It’s truly an experience and I haven’t even received my bike yet. I’ve already joined a couple of Facebook groups, followed a few folks on Instagram, and scoped out the workouts…

Starbucks and Netflix Created a Book Club… “But Have You Read the Book?”
THIS POST IS NOT SPONSORED. I’M JUST PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES FOR THIS BOOK CLUB… Y’all, two of my favorite forces have combined to create a thing and I couldn’t possibly be more excited! happy dance Starbucks partnered with Netflix for Netflix Book Club. Getting Fit: Waiting for My Peloton to Arrive
After stalking the website for a year, reading reviews, watching videos, and trying to justify the price, I finally made the decision to buy a Peloton. I ordered the Bike+ Essentials, which comes with bike shoes, 3 lb bike weights, and reversible workout mat. I chose this option because I didn’t want to stress over making the right bike shoe purchase. From what I’ve read, you can use your own bike shoes, you just need to make sure that they clip in for safety reasons. I added the weights because I know I’ll want to add strength training to my cardio after I get comfortable with the rides. Additional Accessories…

Where Bloggers Live: Put Your Records On
If you read my Ageless Style post last week, then you already know two things about my musical taste: We were not allowed to listen to secular music My first Walkman was a game changer My mom and stepfather are both preachers, so we grew up in a conservative household where we were not allowed to dance, listen to secular music, play cards, blah blah blah… So I used to listen to Contemporary Gospel artists like The Clark Sisters and the Winans. Their gospel music was set to a funky beat that my parents were able to {barely} tolerate. But I loved them. Two of my favorite and most often…

Have you ever seen that movie The Village by M. Knight Shyamalan? My sister and I like to joke that it’s somewhat representative of the way we grew up. Both of our parents were preachers, so there were a lot of things we weren’t allowed to do. Chief among them: we could not listen to secular music or…
