365 Project: April 2021
And that’s a wrap on another month of pictures… I feel like I did more than drink coffee in April… Let’s see, I finally finished The Street. It was a long book but a good one. So much of Ann Petry’s words are still relevant today. I’ll write a review in the near future. The Hubs and I took a concealed carry course and are now qualified/licensed to conceal carry. I took some graduation pictures for my coworker’s daughter, you can see one of my favorites here. What was the highlight of your month? Happy Snapping, LET’S CONNECT Follow Living Outside the…

Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. Hey, y’all, hey! Hope you had a beautiful weekend. We ended up having a beautiful weekend after a very stormy Friday night and early Saturday morning. The sad part is that I ended up having to go to the library to do a bit of work for our upcoming accreditation application. I feel like this has been my…

Friday was a slow start… I didn’t finish working on stuff for my day job {librarianing} until almost 8 PM. We just finished our COE accreditation and are now going right into a SACS application. It’s so hard and tedious, y’all. Every time I think I have one section done, I re-read it and…

I hope you’re having a great day so far. I am. I have coffee in hand and the sun is trying desperately to come out. I hope it makes it. I’m so ready for warmer weather. We’re still in that weird phase of Spring, where the mornings can either be in the low 50’s or…

My Photography Project: The Power Suit
Nikon D850 + 50mm | ISO 1000, 1/2500, f/4.5 The people who make you smile from just seeing them, those are my favorite people. – Koi Fresco This is an image from a photo shoot that I did for a coworker. The whole time we were together, we could not stop laughing. I think that’s part of the reason these images came out so beautifully. I mean, Mrs. Liz is beautiful but her smile and her confidence are palpable. And I feel like I was able to capture that and so much more. Whenever I’m preparing for a shoot, one of the first things I do is find out the…

I hope you all had a blessed and happy Resurrection Weekend. Ours was very similar to last year’s: we stayed home and watched online services on Sunday. I took Bleu for a couple of long walks that wore her out. We may have to build up her endurance after spending the winter in…

365 Project: March 2021
And that’s a wrap on another month of pictures… The Hubs and I celebrated 26 years this month. Our celebrations were low-key. We’ve never been one of those go all out and celebrate one day kind of couples because, well, every day demands a bit of pomp and circumstance, don’t you think? My sister and I flipped the page to chapter 48. I can’t believe we’re 48. There are times when I feel like a kid playing dress up, I almost never feel like a full-fledged adult with my crap together. I hugged my parents courtesy of God’s grace and hardworking scientists. My mom has been ill for the last…

How are things in your area? I woke up this morning to snow and ice. I’m not happy. I was not made for cold weather. I like sweater weather, not parka weather. This is unbearable. Yes, I know it’s winter, but I can’t handle it. ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART Style Imitating Art is…
