Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support. Everyone else is still maintaining some sense of decency and sleeping in their bedrooms. ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART Style…

On My Front Porch: A Photography Project
Like many people in areas where the elected officials care about their constituents, we’re under Stay At Home Orders. And I’ve been trying to figure out how I can remember this time. I mean, we know it won’t last always. Right? Then it dawned on me: USE YOUR CAMERA. Yes, really, that was not my first thought. I think there was a disconnect because I don’t have kids at home. So, yeah, Daenel, that means that you have to get creative with your photography. It isn’t just people with kids who shoot, ya know? Anyway, I decided to start documenting life from my front porch. Not that there’s a lot…

Where Bloggers Live: My Home Office
Hi, and welcome to this month’s edition of Where Bloggers Live. This month, we’re sharing our home offices and giving a few tips on how we’re managing life under quarantine. The college that I work for is comprised of 8 campuses that are spread fairly far apart, so most of our resources are available electronically. Most of my day is comprised of ensuring that those resources are available and assisting our faculty and IT Department with whatever they may need. I also assist with the college’s social media, so I make sure that accurate information is shared in a timely manner {really, just a creative extension of my library work}.…

Have you adjusted to the “new normal”? We’re settling in over here. I’m trying to keep things as normal as possible over here. But I realize that’s easy for me to do, I don’t have young children who have to adjust to this new life. I’m telecommuting now. Not gonna lie, my coworkers and…

Shoe Style Saturday
Welcome to the first edition of Shoe Style Saturday! I used to host this many years ago, then I just kind of let it fall to the side. There wasn’t a real reason for it. I just got lazy, I guess. Then I started talking to fellow blogger, Shugunna {Nzuri N* Simplicity}, and we decided to bring it back. I know, why now? Well, why not now? I mean, we need something to distract us from does the Kermit wave what’s going on out there. Like many of you, I’ve been home with my family. We started telecommuting about a week ago and the transition hasn’t been without its {very…
